Fishmin 40 Fish Fish Finder is a portable, loose fish finder with sonar features with perspective and a sidefinder. A descending sonar sends sound waves from the bottom of the transducer to the water that is directly under the transducer. The SideFinder sonar projects sound waves from the flat side of the transducer housing at the bottom of the transducer shaft. The SideFinder sonar is capable of seeing the fish in place of your boat and allows you to scan the fish in which you are throwing. A regular depth finder will not allow you to see this fish.

The Downlooking sonar function uses a 200 kHz beam, which provides a cone angle of 34 degrees. Sidelooking has a beam of 455 kHz, which provides a cone angle of 10 degrees. The bottom surface is best seen when the slow motion functionality is turned on strictly, but some lower definition can be obtained when the passing beam is activated.

When using the 140C Fishin Buddy, it’s best to drive at slow trolling speeds. This model can be damaged at high speeds, as well as if it is knocked down from low or submerged objects. The owner must use lower boat speeds when working with a fish finder. While the boat is moving, the 140C Fishin Buddy will show variations in the composition of the bottom, underwater objects, fish, bait fish and thermoclines so you can see where to drop.
