Pilates is a great exercise for dancers, because it helps to move the body to optimal health with a smooth range of motion - while creating strength and dexterity.
But what makes Pilates such a mode of thinking after training?
Joseph Hubertus Pilates developed this highly regarded restorative exercise system about 80 years ago. As a child, Joseph was often prone to illness. He caught many misfortunes, including rheumatic heart disease. Suffering from many of these terrible misfortunes, he thought to strengthen himself through physical activity. Later he took up boxing, circus, and also became a gymnast to try to recuperate and improve his health.
In fact, by taking part in these sports, he developed his own style of exercise that helped him regain his health. Years of restoring his personal strength and health led him to use the same methods for others who were also ill.
During the First World War (WWI) during internment in England, he worked as a nurse in a hospital, exercising his strict system of exercises on sick patients. And during this time the Spanish influence has passed into the lives of many. However, the patients under Joseph’s tutelage experienced a disease that welcomed the attention of many leaders, especially Hitler, who asked his services to train their troops. However, Joseph refused and continued his exercise system to restore the health and fitness of his patients.
Joseph later left England to start a new life in America. It was here that he met his wife Clara, who at the time was a trained nurse. They later married and opened their own studio, using the skills they acquired over the years - in particular, the successful fitness program of Josef. He and his wife helped restore the bodies of permanent citizens, who flocked to their workshop, but became even more recognizable as those who could restore the bodies of dancers and theater workers. They helped a lot with injuries, rehabilitation, general physiognomy and posture.
At that time, Joseph also developed several pieces of equipment that were very effective in increasing the flexibility, strength, and stability of his patients. The word quickly spread about their studio, and Pilates slowly became known for what it is today, one of the safest and most effective ways to obtain optimal health and fitness.
That is why many movie stars, such as Madonna, Daisy Fuentes, Julia Roberts and Brooke Shields, praised its effectiveness. Well, you can actually see the effectiveness of the Pilates just by looking at the physique of these beautiful celebrities. Pilates helps to keep these movie stars in shape, combining body and mind.
Performing simple but small repetitions of exercises over regular repetitions of exercises makes Pilates a unique but effective way to restore the body to the highest level of health and fitness. This is a refreshing and therapeutic way to add flexibility and strength to your body, improving your posture.
Want longer, leaner muscles? Pilates is a must for fitness lovers and those who are looking for a new way to get in shape. Dancers will definitely find this one of the best training routines for building the strength and dexterity that are necessary for a dance.
