Last weekend I visited Paulding Forest Georgia WMA, and at first I was extremely annoyed. The map was terrible, I mean terrible. I have a feeling that we will soon lose this Georgia WMA, because it seems that the closer we can lose Georgia WMA, the worse the cards will get WMA, and more and more private houses appear on all this Georgia WMA.
Anyway, I finally got to know this area, and after I understood some of the roads, and where I was, I found some interesting places to share with everyone. I stayed in one small BBQ pool called Wallaces Hickory House, and it was absolutely the best BBQ sandwich I ever had, it was very wet and juicy, and the Brunswick stew was pretty good, a little softer than I prefer, but still really good. I would actually take an hour back from my house just for another sandwich. They were located right on the corner of Ga. Hwy 101 and Goldmine Rd.
I also found a very cool camping, located approx. 10 minutes from Paulding Forest Georgia WMA. The campground is called Scala. Scala is located at 130 Forsyth Lake Rd. Rockmart, Ga. 30153. Now, that's what's amazing in this place. They have these amazing little cabins that you can stay in, it was thirty dollars a night, and they had a large open concert hall for the country, bluegrass and southern rock bands. There were tenet sites, RV sites, picnic tables, everything you need for a pleasant overnight stay.
If you need a good breakfast, the best I could find closest to Georgia WMA was a small shop that had a small buffet dinner with good fried chicken and large steak potatoes, and they served breakfast every morning seven days a week. . The cookies were made fresh, and for me they really hit that morning this morning. The name of the store is Scotts Market Country Cooking, sorry, the phone number is not listed, but they are located on Goldmine rd.
There was another small place for a barbecue that I found under the name Merles BBQ, I'm sorry, I didn’t try the food, I went inside, I was stuffed from other places that I tried, and I just wanted to try putting it out. The stew was great and they had great homemade peach patties on the counter. I'm going to leave this place before my next visit, but, based on the appearance of this place, I am sure it is great. If someone tries Merles, leave a comment and let me know.
The only thing that would make this an amazing visit would be a good fishing lake where I could have a night fish, but in any case, I will try to find a good place to go fishing in the area the next time I am in the WMA Forest and update the maps as soon as I find them. I am going to build a library of extended WMA cards in Georgia, which indicate the corrected roads, as well as non-profit mae and pop restaurants and inexpensive places to stay when visiting WMA Georgia. Well, it's all up to my next venture, and meanwhile, happy hunt for WMA Georgia
