Off The Strip Activities in Las Vegas -2

Do not misunderstand me; Las Vegas Strip is great. I like it. But sometimes, the strip may be a bit, and, frankly, I would prefer to swallow a cyanide pill than go somewhere near it. And I know all the local legs that way, because they all said that to me. And after a few harsh days, some tourists need a break from The Strip. Fortunately, this wonderful city offers far more opportunities than just what can be found on this four-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard. Here are some examples, the more this city has to offer ...

Playing games Insert coins

Located in the city center, recently opened (May 2011) Insert coins This is a unique vision of its founder, Chris LaPorte. Insert coins this is basically the fusion of a Las Vegas lounge with a modern arcade. There are ten private gaming booths on one wall for people who want to use their own systems, more than 40 classic (coin acceptor) arcade games, a booth for DJs (who played an amazing old-school hip-hop set when I made my visit) dance floor and full-service bar. The central panel consists of colored LED indicators, and gamers can order a drink by playing one of the most modern games on plasma screens above the bar. This is definitely one of the most unique conditions in Las Vegas, and the crowd is not just a bunch of hermits living in their parental territory. We don't even have basements in Vegas. The crowd is amazingly diverse (attractive women!).

Be hip with hipsters on Beauty bar

Directly across from Insert coins Beauty bar not quite a secret, opening 11 different places in the country, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. This is a good place for some cheap drinks and a soft night. If it's not too hot, “Garden of Beer Garden” is a great place to watch live music, comedy, or just sit at the picnic tables. I highly recommend going there "Smiths Night" to see a few dozen Morrissey looks like looks. It is fascinating.

Before you leave, thinking that there is nightlife and booze, here are some activities that are absolutely pleasant during the daytime and while (supposedly) sober:

Check out that giant hole on Earth

There are only Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and Las Vegas is a leap and a leap from one of them. Las Vegas offers helicopter tours and Grand Canyon buses. I would recommend to really go down there with a bus tour, because the helicopter is not so different from flying in an airplane. Most bus tours now include a ride on the newly built Hoover Dam Bridge (official name: Mike O & # 39; Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge), which is a pretty amazing example of human ingenuity. You can also check out the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass semi-circle that hangs 4,000 feet above the Colorado River. You cannot do it anywhere in the world. Go and try. You can not.

We are not on Mars, but we have red stones

Located 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip Red Rock Canyon, this is the first Nevada National Reserve. There is a 13-mile scenic drive leading to 30 miles of hiking trails. For the more adventurous traveler (and not for me) there are places for climbing and riding. The last time I went camping in Red Rock, I was lucky enough to look at a group of bovine sheep on a mountainside. I closed my eyes with one of them. We had a moment. I think he remembers me.

This is just the beginning of what Las Vegas has to offer outside The Strip, but alas, all that I have for today. Whether you're a first time visitor, an old professional or a local like me, there is a lot more in Las Vegas than what you see in the movies; You just have to know where to look.
