Kayaking
False Creek is the most popular kayak spot in Vancouver. This calm water is a great place for beginners, as there are few obstacles and little traffic that can be avoided. The scenery surrounding the popular route during the summer is fantastic; Kayakirs will be viewed from the point of view of Telus World of Science, the Olympic Village and Granville Island, which is also a great place to rent your equipment and start your canoe trip.
windsurfing
Jericho Beach is a great starting point for guests who want to catch up. For the first time, windsurfers are advised to hit the water early in the day, as water and wind are usually lighter. Big waves and strong winds are usually detected during the day.
Kiteboarding
As with the title, kiteboarding is essentially a surfboard associated with a giant kite-like parachute. Kiteboarding along the coastline of Vancouver is fun, but serious kiteboarders should head to the Tofino area on Vancouver Island for stronger winds and larger waves.
Vancouver beaches
Guests looking for a hot summer place to cool off should look no further than one of the many beaches in Vancouver. The main beaches of Vancouver are compromised by the English Bay (near the city center) and Chicilano Beach (on the opposite side of the water from the city center) due to their size and location. Both beaches have indoor and outdoor showers, a huge selection of restaurants and more. For guests seeking privacy, the coast of Vancouver has many small beaches. Vancouver’s Stanley Park area also offers a unique experience, as it contains mountainous beaches along its seacoast.
Skim boarding
Skim-boarding can be considered as a skateboard without wheels, skimming over shallow pools of water. Skim-boarding in Vancouver is almost exclusively done on Jericho Beach due to the expanded shallow mud created by the tide changes. Skin boards are inexpensive enough to rent, but they can only be used at low tide.
