 Silicon Valley: fun for the whole family -2

Silicon Valley, located in the southern region of San Francisco, is widely known as the center of computer technology in the United States, if not in the world. The name of the field refers to silicon used to make computer chips. While many guests in the area have experienced the joys that San Francisco has to offer, some believe that Silicon Valley is a place to relax. However, there are numerous activities, attractions, and interesting places to visit that are not necessarily computer related.

Fun and Silicon Valley for the whole family

There are a number of activities that will interest the whole family. While some of them are more focused on older children, there are still many things that will fascinate younger children. Below are some examples of activities that families can enjoy together.

A trip to the "Zeppelin" - Take a tour of the full-size airship and explore vineyards, villages, colossal mansions and the charming village side of Silicon Valley in addition to the headquarters of technology world leaders, including Google and Apple. Also browse the hangars of the Moffett Field airship, which are among the largest independent buildings in the world. Children over three years old are allowed to ride.

Bay View Charters - Experience the beauty of San Francisco Bay on a yacht cruise. Special options include dinner, sunset and Christmas cruises. Although they allow children, the most popular family cruise is a tour of the Navy reserve fleet. This trip travels around the many boats moored there and provides a close view of the Battleship Iowa with a story told.

Gilroy gardens - Doesn't your average amusement park of this gardening theme park excite children with activities related to issues like what causes earthquakes and how bees make honey? Walking with more than 40 rides placed in the park, children can roam among the plants that sing, animals from colorful leaves and a giant tree that looks like a basket among other surprises of the forms of plant life.

Garrod Farm Pastry - Enjoy horseback riding in vineyards, reserves and forests, taking breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay and the valley of Santa Clara from a height of 1000 feet. Riders must be at least 8 years old.

Redwood sheds - Take a high-speed over-clearance 150 feet above the ground to get a unique view of the coastal Forrest river forest. To participate, children must be over 10 years old.

Mad waters - Cool down on a hot day with a visit to the largest water park in Northern California. Offering something for everyone, the park includes high-speed slides, family rafts, 350,000 gallon rides and interactive water playgrounds, ideal for young children.

NASA Eames Research Center - This science center, located at NASA Ames Science Center, includes interactive exhibits for all ages on various aspects of NASA, a theater showing films of various space exploration missions and the manifestation of lunar rocks, meteorites and other geological samples that are literal peace. This museum for all ages is free for the public.

Many visitors to California view Silicon Valley as a strictly business district filled with technology companies located in the southern part of San Francisco Bay, and do not consider searching for family activities there. However, there are many attractions in the area that the whole family can enjoy. The list presented here is just a small sample of what is available for vacationing families in Silicon Valley. A quick search in the computer before the trip will open a number of other possibilities. Consider staying in this area, besides the fact that you have your own interesting opportunities to explore, Silicon Valley is convenient for other cities that complement family fun.
