We have heard the rule again and again: our bodies need at least eight glasses of water each day to stay healthy and hydrated. However, for some of us, eight points may seem almost impossible. For others, this is not enough. The truth is that each of our bodies is different and has different maintenance needs. However, traveling through Breckenridge, Colorado, or any high altitude, sufficient moisture is necessary. Although it may seem like drinking water is straightforward, you may be surprised at how much you really need to know.

  • What is it about? In a high mountain city such as Breckenridge, lower air pressure can cause moisture to evaporate from your skin and lungs. As a result, if you do not take care of yourself, dehydration and illness above sea level can sneak up on you, which not only gives you a feeling of nausea and lightness of the head, but can also become dangerous because your vigilance is affected. Proper hydration, however, leads to the health benefits of your immune system, skin, digestion, mood, and even helps in weight loss. Since you are likely to take advantage of the many types of outdoor activities that Breckenridge offers, proper hydration will also increase your energy level.
