I recently found out that Google is going to bring something unique to the EMD and Google Panda sites to get them back into the rankings, obviously, not so fast. There will be a bit of a turn, and I’m ready, because I know that if something comes, it will certainly affect the current ranking of the site.
Most people will notice a change in their ranking when they see a competitor they beat after updating Google Panda and EMD approaching them. However, I have a lot of strategies on the page that I’m going to talk about here, and also in the hope that it can be useful for some of you. These strategies will focus around your website, content, HTML, Google Analytics and webmasters, as well as RSS feeds.
Let's discuss each of them in detail:
1. Analysis of the website
The very first step in optimizing a page is analyzing a website, and is also considered as the basis for an effective website optimization process. It is very important to make sure that the website you are optimizing does not contain errors; This is for the search engines and users. There are various steps in analyzing websites that need to be taken care of, the diagrams below show 5 main tasks in analyzing a website:
- Site layout: It defines the architecture of the website; the way in which the owner decided to present his product or services offered to visitors. It is always recommended to offer your product and services in such a way that it can be easily found and viewed for any visitor on your website. There must be a correct sorting of the products and services that you offer, the shape, size, category, etc.
- HTML source code: This section defines the HTML code of a web page, such as javascript, CSS, and other codes needed to present the data. You need to clean and get rid of any errors. Always check your HTML from the W3 markup service, they tell you even the smallest error in the HTML source code. Less error is less time spent by scanners to move your codes, and more time they need to read on the real site of your site.
- Navigation - header and footer: Here you need to observe the most important area of the web page, the Header and Footer, also known as the “Header Navigation” and “Footer” links. You need to provide only those links that can be useful to visitors when searching for information and can help them find what they came on your web page.
- Website load time: The time that a web page allows you to fully open in any browser. The developer needs to take care of this problem, as they are experts in reducing the amount of code presented on any web page. It is advisable to put long codes in CSS and try to make the size of the webpage as low as possible. Loading time also depends on other factors, such as: flash file, images, PDF, server, amount of content.
- Link check (broken link, anchor text): Opt Xenu to check links to a broken link on your site. Broken links are not favorites of scanners, and, as a rule, they tend to lower the rating of these sites with a large number of broken links and show them as 404 errors. You must be sure that every link you add inside, if it works, or not.
2. Keyword research
Keyword research is one such practice used by SEO professionals to research and search for real search terms that people use to enter search engines when conducting a search. Keyword research is usually done in order to target our site using the searched and relevant keywords in order to achieve the best rating of the desired ones. You may know about popular keyword research tools, some of them are:
- Google AdWords Keyword Tool
- Wordtracker
- Sem rush
- Wordstream
- Bing keyword (not sure what many of you have heard about this, you need to enter it first)
3. Optimizing the URL structure
Optimizing the URL structure is one such process, many of which are just a myth and are not very dependent on it. This is one of those processes where you can tell search engines and users that it’s all about it. You must be careful when you go to URL optimization as they will include the search queries that you found during the keyword research process. The diagram here shows you each element of the URL and what it can contain.
The URL structure is related to the attachment of the main target keyword phrase to your URL for the web page, and you need to make sure that the appropriate words appear in your URL and that there is no dynamically generated string or variable that might not be so useful. Web page optimization, as compared to a URL with keywords.
4. URL mapping
URL mapping is a simple process of tagging website URLs for search queries that you find during keyword research. First you need to list all the possible search terms grouped during the search queries, on one tab of the excel sheet and all the URLs of websites on another tab of the excel sheet. Then you need to manually select the search terms on the keywords tab and place them in the URL that best matches this particular search query. Although this process is manual and can take a long time on a large website, it is advisable to follow the URL, rather than the site as a whole. You need to highlight the search terms on your dedicated webpage for better and effective targeting.
5. Content Optimization
The content on your website is very important for search engines, because they consider the relevance and importance of the website based on both meta tags and content on important keywords that you target on this page. In addition, the content is also present as they search for information when searching. You must follow several guidelines:
- Include keywords in text
- Consider 3% keyword density in the text, which means three keywords (not exact, you can manage them) for every 100 words.
- Text formatting is bold, italic, color is all that will attract the user's attention.
- Regularly add relevant content to your site.
6. Creating a meta tag
Meta tags are a great way for webmasters to tell search engines what information their web page contains. Meta tags can be used to provide information to all customers, and each system processes only those meta tags that they understand and ignores the rest. Especially for tags of titles, descriptions and keywords that need to be stored in the personal meaning defined by Google
Signature tags - 65 characters, metadescription - 150 characters, meta-words - 250 Keywords
7. Image optimization
Google can't read your image. Instead, it will read the text in the Alt attribute, which describes what the image is about. Proper image optimization involves using the “Alt” attribute when adding images to your site. Therefore, choose a descriptive text for your Alt. And most importantly, add image URLs to an XML sitemap.
8. Optimization of service / category / subpage
This process is used to optimize product pages or services or website categories. This is very similar to home page optimization; the only difference is that you need to focus on certain key phrases, not general ones, since the page will be very specific to the proposed product or service. When we look at the home page, they are universal and require that generic phrases be aimed against them for optimization. The internal pages are completely opposite where you need to be specific to the term used on the page for the optimization process.
9. Optimization of the management team page
Practically very similar to optimizing the internal page, the only thing that needs to be done here is to link the Google+ profile, Blogger and other social communities of these members of the management team to make them searchable in the social community. This step is more like a personal profile promotion for page optimization.
10. Contacts Page Optimization
Once again, no big deal. You just need to focus on the information you provide to your visitors on the contact page. You need to make sure that the list of Google maps is integrated on this page for the best user experience in using the business correspondence address.
11. Social media profile buttons
The usual process of adding social media sharing buttons in the top navigation.
This is one common step that I believe most of you already use it. You just need to add or integrate the Social Share Sharing buttons in the top right for users who want to contact you on these platforms.
12. Integration and optimization of the blog section
The recommended approach is to create a blog section and make it live in the upper navigation of your website. The best thing you can do is show a summary blog entry on the home page to better scan your blog posts by search engines. To optimize it, you can add automatic functionality to get the blog post title.
13. RSS feed integration
RSS aka Rich Site Summary aka Really Simple Syndication are web feed formats that are used to publish or promote frequently updated posts, such as blog entries, news releases. The RSS document (also called a feed, web feed) includes full or generic text, as well as metadata, such as publication dates and authorship.
RSS feeds benefit publishers by allowing them to syndicate content automatically. The standardized XML file format allows you to publish information once and view many different programs. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from their favorite websites or combine feeds from many sites in one place.
14. Robots.txt file
The Robots file, also known as the Robot Exclusion Protocol or the robots.txt protocol, is a preventive measure to inform web searchers and other web robots what part of the crawl is available, and prevent access to a part of the website, the opportunity. Robots are often used by search engines to categorize and archive websites or webmasters to fix source code. For more information you can visit http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html
15. XML Sitemap
XML Sitemaps is a protocol that allows a webmaster to inform search engines of URLs present on a website that is available for crawling. An XML Sitemap is a file that lists all the URLs for a website. It allows webmasters to include additional and relevant information related to each URL, such as the last updated one, how often it changes, and how important it is to other URLs on the site. 16. HTML Sitemap
