
Rugs are not inexpensive and you want to protect your investment with due care. Cleaning rug however, this is not a one-way job. Size, design, material and other factors influence how you should clean and care for them.
You should be serious about carpets if you want a beautiful house, because carpets are one of the most easily destroyed features of a house. They can be either an attractive centerpiece of your home, or an eyesore that you want to hide.
Vacuum large floor mats regularly.
In general, you should take care of large area rugs, as well as carpet. As the only important thing you can do to maintain it, is to vacuum it daily. Be careful not to pounce on the carpet.
Evacuation keeps the mat clean, of course, and prevents aging. It keeps it durable, soft and well-groomed. This will give it a rich and well-groomed look. Heck, it might even look completely new.
Get rid of pet hair.
Of course, ignore this advice if you do not have a pet. However, if you do, you know too well how much their hair can really occupy itself in tapestries, carpets, clothes and more. Vacuum will not always lift all hair for pets. Use a stiff brush to lift pet hair.
Turn carpets per year.
This will help minimize the aging of the rug over time. As we have said, carpet area is not cheap, and you want them to go on as long as possible. The sun and people walking on the carpet can wear it. Regularly turning it, it will fail.
Shake small floor mats.
You can take a small rug outside and shake it or beat it on a fence or a coat hanger. This will remove dirt, hair and sand that may be stuck. Do not forget to add some energy for shaking and beating. It is also important to respect the neighbors and passers-by. No one wants your carpet in their eyes or nose!
Deep clean all floor mats
All rugs should be deep cleaned every 12-18 months. When you first use a cleaning agent (homemade carpet cleaners), you are always advised to check a small area first. Use foam, spray or other carpet cleaner on all your floor mats. Larger carpets can benefit from deep cleaning from a carpet cleaner or carpet shampoo. This will ensure a long life for your carpet and that your home is clean and hygienic.
In general, much of what you do with wall covering can be done with carpets. Do not forget to keep in mind the material from which it is made, and be sure that everything that you decide to wear on it will not be stain or damage. Also, keep in mind to never vacuum the fringe or the edges of the area of the rug.
