 Women's Food and God's Overview - A Christian Look -2

Women's food and God from Geneen Roth shone in the spotlight on compulsive and booze. The author’s premise is that “as we eat, so we live.” She says that our eating behavior expresses our emotions, our life approach and even how we view God. The last connection attracted me to the book. This review is written as information if you are looking for a divine solution to treat booze.

Now I must say that I approached the book with a certain expectation; I suffered from compulsive eating for more than 20 years, eventually reaching 240 pounds. But thanks to the power of God, I learned to manage my emotions and restore the right relationship with food. I completely lost 85 pounds and kept this weight for several years. My healing would be impossible without a personal relationship with God. Through the man Jesus Christ, I came to know God as my Redeemer, Healer, Power, Wisdom, Joy and comfort.

So, it is God who loves me, whom I hoped to see in “The Women's Food” and “God”. The book has become promising - it reaffirmed the importance of rejecting self-judgment. This is an important key to healing. Condemnation makes you ashamed, upset, and repressed. The Bible tells us that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. God is always about restoration, not condemnation (Romans 8: 1).

I also found value in a terrific conversation in a book; the woman revealed that she was obsessively abundant because food was her only source of comfort from emotional pain. This is the key problem of healing caused by drinking; because the woman believed it was true that the food was her only consolation, she declared defiantly that Ms. Roth would not deprive her of it.

However, I cannot recommend Feminine Food and God for those who seek a divine solution to overcome drinking for one reason: on page 16, Ms. Roth says: “It doesn't matter if you believe in one God, there are many gods or not gods” . This is contrary to the Bible: “Thus saith the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last;

As Christians, we are told that we must disgrace our waists with the truth. In ancient times, the waist / stomach area was seen as a place of emotions. Therefore, we must provide our emotions with truth. We believe that there is only one God, and we use the Bible as the source of truth.

I decided not to continue reading “Women's Food and God,” because, according to Ms. Roth, she says that you can remove God from the picture, and her methods will still work. If so, what role does God play in her book? Is it God, as he defines himself or is it God, although the reader defines him? From personal experience, I found that having a steady look at the love of God expressed in the Bible, knowing that he had a future and hope for me, and believing that I could trust him in my healing, was vital for my success.

Again, this review was written to help you make a more informed decision about the book before you buy it. I urge everyone to please using spiritual recognition regarding your final purchase decision.
