 Fundamentals of Strength Training -2

Power training
Strength training is a form of anaerobic exercise, the purpose of which is to increase the strength of skeletal muscles. It can be used both for rehabilitation, and for fitness, and also for training in sports. This section provides a basic description of some of the basic principles of strength training.

Principles of strength training:
There are three main elements of a successful strength training program.

  • Overload: To experience strength gain, the mouse must be loaded more than it is accredited.
  • progression : Active muscle must work against gradually increasing resistance to cope with overload.
  • Specific: The gains depend on the muscle group used, as well as on the movement model
The increase in strength is not necessarily associated with an increase in muscle size or cross-sectional area. This is especially true at the very first stage of the start of a new power skills training program.

The changes that occur in this very first phase are mainly due to the fact that the nervous system adapts to new stimuli. The centers of the brain that control movement learn to more effectively use the neural paths of a particular movement. The result is increased strength and carrying capacity. The principle of specificity is specifically applied in this respect.

There are many theories about why weight training leads to muscle growth. Actual muscle growth is not observed for at least six weeks in the training program. This is true for beginners. Muscle growth can occur faster in people who have paused from a previous long-term exercise program.

Additional articles on muscle growth will be presented.
