When we built our house in Europe, I need a flat roof. For a while I lived in India in a 200-square-meter flat-roofed house, and it was really amazing. You can go and take a walk and look at the sleeping city at night. Beautiful.
But we did not build a flat roof.
Nearby, roof types have their own characteristics and will not always correspond to your construction project, weather or geographic location or your budget. In this article I will draw your attention to the advantages and disadvantages of the most popular types of roof: gable, shed or flat roof.
The gable roof consoles of two identical inclined surfaces are located opposite each other. On the other two sides there are two flat surfaces, and often they are an extension of the wall of the house. Usually the front entrance of the house is on the same side with one of these flat surfaces. The typical top of such roofs is between 4/12 and 10/12. Moreover, it is really a steep gable roof.
It is most popular in western countries and throughout Europe. There are reasons for this. In these areas with moderate weather, the roof should be insulated from both heat and cold. Roof gable is good for this because it provides a lot of air between the sloping surfaces and the actual ceiling of the house. Many homes allow you to use this intermediate space for construction or for the construction of small penthouses.
The roofing roof is also good for areas that have snow. Inclined surfaces completely cover the upper part of the house, so now there is snow on it, which reduces problems with humidity.
Another advantage of a gable roof is that it is relatively simple to build and quite inexpensive. No wonder this is so popular!
Do not build a roof if you live in very windy terrain. These roofs are easily damaged by hurricanes.
The flat roof, as I said earlier, is very, very cool. This is great for the hot season, when you can use it as a huge terrace. You can have a playground or even a small pool (be careful with the pools, as you do not want water to flood your house). In recent years, green roofs have become very popular, especially flat roofs.
In areas with heavy rain and snow, this type of roof may require some large investment in insulation and drainage systems. Insulation will be quite important if you live in a very hot zone, but because there is not much air between the roof and the ceiling. One option is to build a ceiling under the roof, allowing a meter or so, but that means more money.
If you have a lot of sun, consider installing solar panels on the roof - it will pay off for a long time.
Finally, the roof on the roof is a very simple roof with one sloping surface. It solves the problem with snow and drainage and provides some insulation. For most homes, the roof for a roof (also known as a sloping roof) looks a bit strange, so it is commonly used in garden buildings, such as carports and garages. Some homes, especially mountain huts, may look good with such a roof.
There are also many other types of roofs that you can check before deciding what to choose: a gumbler, an attic, hip, hood, criss-cross and more.
