Secrets of private dance lessons - Learning to dance one on one in comparison with dancing in a group class -2

After you focus on group classes, you are ready for some private lessons! You may notice that sometimes in the classroom you find yourself on the wrong foot, in the wrong rhythm, or something happens relatively smoothly in the classroom, but they do not seem to work when you practice in a club or in your living room. All these classes, and social dances, are going to leave you with a LOT of questions. Take private lessons to answer your questions! The truth is that even if you pay extremely close attention to your group classes, you cannot get answers to all your questions in the classroom. A private lesson is the best way to solve your specific problems.

However, do not jump on private lessons. Some of you may feel a little shy in group classes, but stick to them until you reach the level of basic skills. Then you can meet with the one-on-one instructor in your studio and ask all the silly questions that you put together! Here, where you can remove any fears of being embarrassed, show your private instructor that you do not know that you never understood that you continue to make mistakes.

A private lesson is the perfect place to correct your bad habits before they become too tight in your muscles. That is why you should not wait too long to begin private lessons. The ideal time to start private lessons is two to three weeks of group lessons, and the ideal number of times per week.

So how do you find a private instructor? First ask your instructors. Most of them will also train private soldiers, and if they do not, they will be able to pass you on to someone. You can also search the Internet, Craigslist.com is, of course, a good place to start (after you tried SalsaCrazy for your region). The teacher with whom you end up working best may be a man or a woman, regardless of gender. I know both women and men who prefer female instructors, and I know both women and men who prefer male instructors. However, there are some specific requirements. If you are a woman and are looking for a sexy feminine style, you will probably need a female instructor. If you are a leader, and you are looking for many new and gradually improved models, you may be better off with a male instructor. There are exceptions to this rule, but male instructors usually have a large arsenal of moves. But what you want in an instructor probably has more to do with his or her skills than his or her gender. You want someone to teach at your pace, be patient and dance in a style that you like. Most of all you want someone you trust. You should be able to look like a fool in front of this person, and you need to be safe to ask really stupid questions! If you don't, he or she cannot teach you a lot!

When your private lesson begins, remember that you are the boss. The instructor should help you, and only you know exactly what you want, and you need to get out of your time together. He or she is an expert, yes, but I do not feel intimidated by it. You are the person who hired the teacher to make your dancing better. You should, of course, listen to everything your private instructor advises, but if she takes you on a different road than you want, say! Your teacher may suggest that as a leader you want to learn a bunch of templates when you really want to improve your conclusions or vice versa. Maybe your teacher wants to show you some fun, sexy embellishments as a follower, but you really want to learn how to follow very complex patterns with multiple backs. Do not forget that this is your lesson and you can direct it!

Keep dancing and keep them crazy!
