Jewelry crystals - a major newcomer to crystals -2

The word "crystal" comes from the Greek crystal, which means "ice." The Greeks found beautiful quartz crystals in the mountains of the Alps and believed that they were such cold water that they would never melt.

Most mineral crystals are formed in molten rocks. They are created close to each other when the magma cools, and they are produced in an irregular shape. Some crystals are cube-shaped, while others are triangular. Perfect crystals show straight edges like salt cubes. However, most crystals do not have ideal forms. This is due to the fact that crystals grow in confined spaces in the earth and do not have enough space for uniform formation in all directions. Some crystals appear to have straight edges in some parts, but rounded or jagged in other areas.

When the solutions are completely saturated with mineral components, crystals can begin to form on the walls of rocks, on other crystals or even on dust particles. They can grow quickly or slowly and even stop depending on changes in temperature and concentration of the solution. During the crystallization process, molecules inside the liquid are drawn out along the sample. Some crystals, such as emeralds, are formed when the magma cools down very slowly. Interesting facts about crystals: diamonds and rubies are forms of crystals.

Crystal forms: cubic, hexagonal or trigonal, monoclinic, orthorhombic, tetragonal, triclinic
1. Cubic crystals look like a box and can have 6, 8 or even 12 sides
2. Hexagonal have 3 or 6 sides
3. Monoclinic looks like a box with many different sides.
4. Orthomorphic view looks like two pyramids glued together.
5. Tetragonal looks like a cube, but has one longer side.
6. Triclinic has a random form and, most likely, not in equal proportions.

I came across some facts about crystals and listed only a few of them:
1. A person studying crystals is called a crystallographer.
2. Some living organizations have the ability to produce crystals - I don't have an example yet, I guess it could be a pearl-producing oyster, but I'm not sure, and I will need to research it more.
3. Almost all crystals have a kind of imperfection when the shape of the pattern is distorted.
4. Crystals grow naturally, but sometimes they are produced by scientists in a laboratory under controlled conditions.
5. Saline crystals form when water evaporates from a mixture of salt water.
6. A single cell is what they call the basic building block of a crystal. This is the smallest arrangement of atoms, which shows the crystal structure.
7. Some of the largest natural crystals in the world are located in the Cave of Crystals in Nike, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Crystals vary in size, color, shape and luster depending on the substance from which it is made. You can see crystals in jewelry, because gems can carry patterns that appear to be wonderfully designed by nature. Thus, precious stones such as diamonds, rubies and emeralds are set in jewelry. Well-cut diamonds are crystal and have a transparent, but slightly white, almost silver shine.
