
Mental oversensitivity is also known as psychic overload or mental arousal. Lightworkers and holistic practices are especially susceptible to this, because you are more open to spiritual and mental energies and work with them with your clients every day. If you do not take care of yourself, you will soon be able to take care of your customers or loved ones, because you will not have the strength to do so.
Some symptoms of mental over-sensitivity:
- panic / anxiety attacks, which can be caused either by absorbing the fears of other people, or by the old fears that you have saved that now come to the surface, because you are more attuned to your subconscious
- hypersensitivity to the emotional and psychological states of the people around you; so much so that you cannot tell the difference between your emotions and the emotions of others
- chaotic thoughts or what I call “white noise” in your brain, caused by too many psychic messages going through a moment, or telepathically raising the thoughts of everyone around you
- exhaustion at all levels: mental, emotional, spiritual and physical
As soon as you feel that you are starting to reach this point of over-stimulation, there are things you can do to allow this and prevent further progress. Daily habits of self-help will help prevent over-sensitivity in general. Here are some tips that helped me overcome periods of mental over-stimulation.
1) Ground excess energy into the earth. You can do this by going out and sitting against a tree or walking barefoot so that you have physical contact with the ground. Let Nature absorb and dissipate all the extra psychic energy moving through your mind and body. If you are in the office and between clients, you can do the same by connecting to an indoor factory or using a crystal to turn on the energy.
2) Do deep breathing exercises. Many people teach you to perform deep breathing exercises, breathing from the diaphragm. This is normal, but if you want to go even deeper, try breathing from your navel. When you inhale, your abdomen should expand in place of your chest. You will be amazed at how much air you can draw in one breath. Breathing light, soothing energy; exhale chaotic, excess energy.
3) Shield yourself. Visualize yourself in the realm of pure white light. This shield dominates all external energy from entering your space and causes mental over-sensitivity. This is a method that you should use at any time when working with clients, and you need to keep yourself open to messages. Messages will pass, but customer energy will not.
4) Seek help from your guides or Higher Power. Ask that all the excess energy be taken from you and that you are full of peace and tranquility. If you get a ton of spiritual messages right away, ask these spirits to please speak with you one by one.
These are just a few things you can do to cope with episodes of mental over-sensitivity. The best way to deal with this is to prevent it by protecting and grounding itself between customers. When you learn how to protect yourself from overload, you will find that you have much more energy, as well as mental clarity, so that you can work at a higher level.
