What to look for on the laminated floor -2

Next time, when you decide that you want to replace old worn floors with newly renovated laminated flooring, I would like you to remember one thing, just because you are looking at the Brand Name brand, this does not mean that you will get the best quality floor for your money.

As a smart consumer, you probably already know that buying flooring is just like any other product, because “name” does not always mean top quality products. Some of the laminate flooring with a proprietary brand is difficult to snap into and have a thin tongue and groove structure that breaks easily and is not as strong as a thicker construction. Always check the design of the locking mechanism and ensure that it has a thick system of tongues and grooves and compresses easily.

This can be a daunting task for laminate flooring. Especially when the salespeople you are talking about know very little about the product they are trying to sell to you.

You have the right not to believe me, but I tell you that the information you find and read on my site is true to the fact. During the last 27 years, until I was forced to retire on disability, I worked in the construction industry, both in new and in the remodeling design, so with my experience and research I can honestly say that I give you true information , which you can use to create information solutions when choosing a laminate.

I make my own floor in my house, and now I am replacing a couple of rooms, and these are some of the things that I personally look for when I choose laminate flooring:

1. Type of locking mechanism:

Most consumers miss this area when they buy laminate. You need to look and check how they connect together. Once connected, the connection should be as smooth as possible. When you put your hands through the seam, it should be very flat. Not one side above the other.

Be sure and look at the tongue and grooves where the boards will join together, the thicker the grooves, the stronger the connection.

2. Surface texture:

When you look at the surface of the laminate you are buying, what does it look like? Does it look flat, like plastic doesn't look like real wood anywhere?

3. Wear layer:

All laminate flooring has a wear layer on the surface that helps the daily wear and tear of the product. Naturally, the thicker the layer, the better and longer the product will be. The thinner the layer, the faster it will wear out, leaving you with an unattractive floor.

All our floors have a coating that withstands large transport zones for the most active families and for commercial use.

4. Core material:

After you have familiarized yourself with the samples of laminate flooring that you decide, check and inspect the core. You can compare the cores by simply scratching them with your fingernails or a knife to see how all the feathers are. Is it soft or strong? You are looking for a denser core because it will protect the floor from moisture and give you a stronger and longer floor.

5. Support:

Check the back of the selected specimens. Many laminate manufacturers use a thin layer of melamine to seal the back of their products.

6. Service:

The last thing that is most important for comparison is the company with which you decided to go. Will they help you with advice before, during and after the sale?
