Cirque, CIRQUE, one of the most attractive works of art at the Philadelphia Conference Center, created in 1995, is presented by the notorious artist Judy Pfaff. Born in London in 1946, she moved to the United States as a child. She made her BFA from the University of Washington in 1971 and to the MFA from Yale University in 1973. Judy was awarded a doctorate degree at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, in 1999. As an artist, Art Art has been her area of expertise from the past 25 years.
Its most significant and important commission, Cirque, CIRQUE (250 × 210 × 40), made of stainless steel, automotive paint, aluminum, primer, glass and cable, is used over a huge span of 70,000 square feet. Blue and yellow shaded glass balls, set as precious stones on the ceiling of New York at Grand Central Station, inspired and touched Judy's heart for her unique installation of Cirque, CIRQUE. Judy's setting is embellished with gold and blue aluminum lines that twinkle are modest, and metal works. This reflects her exceptional ability to set her superior innovations and creations into wide spaces.
The largest Pfaff and one of the most popular works in the field of the eyeball to date, “cirque, CIRQUE” actually is nine miles of metal pipes, covering an area of 700,000 square feet. His glass crystals flicker to attract attention. The installation generally improves the feeling of some sci-fi adventures in space. Cirque frame, CIRQUE suspended from the 100-foot ceiling of the old reading terminal. Shining lines of gold and blue aluminum, metal coils, expanding and contracting like tentacles, and small shimmering designs, all combine for a generous effect. The installation is similar to the world of a congenital miracle, shrouded in huge steel rods, plastics and glasses, among many other items.
Cirque, Cirque gives you a strong feeling of being at the bottom of the ocean, with light and life on earth, forming a layer much higher, near the surface of the water. Pfaff's work has always been full of life and meticulous, artistically carrying the essence of poetry and music, being completely logical and meaningful. Judy stays away from the visual effects, tending to the processes, following her after “Pomminimalism.” She believes that "Looking at something for quite a long time, makes it clear that it does not deserve." With a firm determination to carry out ambitious and new projects, Judy Pfaff leaves no stone unturned to kiss her success with her creativity, hard work and attention to detail.
Along with the radiant part of the installation art Cirque, CIRQUE, Plaff has produced more than forty temporary and permanent installations since 1975. Artworks from Whitney, Hirshhorn, St. Louis, Denver, Albright-Knox, the 60th Venice Biennale and the 24th Biennale in São Paulo participate in her work.
