The Church of St. Martin, the parish church of the West Drayton Diocese of London is very unusual and picturesque and is certainly worthy of an article. Photos are available for viewing on my website.
Traveling from outside London is very easy to find, joining the M25 from the M40 (j16), heading south for one junction to M4 (j15), which is marked for Heathrow Airport, continue to the next junction M4 (j4) The island will lead you to West Drayton, which starts immediately from Heathrow Airport and continues north to Yiewsley. Part of Middlesex until 1965 is now part of Greater London on the western outskirts. Under the Hillingdon district of London, this area is a suburban as well as a municipality due to its proximity to the M4 / M25 network.
Unlimited parking is allowed on one side of the highway to the church, the area is a suburban residential with a park opposite. No church car park. I was informed that this is a dangerous area to get out of the car, but with other cars that are going to come to the wedding, the rooms prevail.
The church cannot be easily seen; instead, a small small medieval castle or a fortified manor (building with an inscription) in good condition dominates the road corner with a green (reserved area) and a park bench. A small L-shaped asphalt drive from Church Road allows you to use special vehicles, such as a wedding car or horse and carriage, to take passengers directly in front of a lighter that leads to the church.
The church and estate are listed in 1181, which state that the priest had 22 acres of arable land. A church with fragments of the XIII century, but usually built of flint rubble and stone in the 15th. From the lighter, the walking path is divided into two entrances, on the right and next to it is the usual entrance to the rear of the church. This area in front of the southern facing church is used for wedding photos and has a triangle with preserved grass. On the other side is the cemetery, on which stands a road overlooking the houses.
The current female vicar unusually prevents the recording of a video or sound inside the church and limits official wedding photos to just four. Confetti can be thrown after lichgata. Green area suitable for large group photos. Because the church road is narrow and cars will be parked by both parties at a wedding, it seriously blocks traffic, and it can even be difficult to get away with trapped cars from both directions.
