As Internet users, we have to deal with the problem of spam email. Most people already have effective anti-spam tools, but may find that they know about it. Just configure spam filters that protect us from all unwanted spam.
Internet users usually fall into one of two categories. Probably, we either have an Internet provider that offers spam filters, or we have an online hosting service that offers them. We will look at spam filters that are part of online hosting. I'm talking about those that are included in cPanel your hosting account. Most of those that I saw are very similar.
In cPanel you will see the "Mail" section. In the "Mail" section, the option "User Level Filtering" is selected. This option will allow you to set filters for each email account that exists in your hosting account. Select the specific account for which you want to set filters. Click the button at the top labeled "Create a new filter." When you do this, you will receive a page that looks like a web form. At the top of the selected filter name. You can set a set of rules (think about the conditions), which, if they are met, will allow the server to process your spam mail.
In my case, I used a specific account to request some software on a specific website. It turned out that the site is not particularly respected. From this point on, I received a large amount of spam from this and, possibly, from other companies. General information about emails was that they were always from hotmail.com and always contained a long line of keywords that were combined in a subject line like the following: HugeSotwareAdobeDealsMicroDiscountOffice2010Photoshop. Keeping in mind these similarities, I was able to put together a good profile for filtering these letters.
If you get duplicate email from a single email service such as Hotmail, here’s the first effective step. Select “From” under the left side of the form. On the right side, select "match regex". Regular expression means “regular expression”. This gives you the ability to match all mail with a specific string in a spam phrase line. It’s hard to turn off Hotmail, because this is only the “From the line” part. But if you use “match regex” - Hotmail, then the filter will select all mail that includes the Hotmail expression, even if it works along with other words. This will select all email addresses with a Hotmail domain, no matter what follows the “@” symbol.
Now you may not want to disable all messages from users who have Hotmail. The second click of the plus sign in the far right corner of the form. This will give you a new box for the new condition. In this field, select a topic, and then repeat the regular expression again. Set a slight drop between the first two conditions and. For my example, the regular expression will be "soft." Do not use the software, because the spammer can cut it and just use soft. It will take both soft and software. Select another option and specify a new condition. Here I would use the theme and regular expression again, this time using “or” in the drop-down list between them. Re-type the word from the long line that is often found in these letters, for example, “Adobe”. You can repeat this time or two by using “or” between each choice.
Finally, select the new condition, and then select the "Spam Bar" and "contains". This suggests that your hosting company has equipped you with SpamAssassin, which most people have. SpamAssassin rates all your email according to some scientific principles that determine the likelihood that it is spam. It does not filter emails by itself, it simply evaluates it. Here you set filters for receiving mail with driving conditions and a SpamAssassin 5 or 6 account or whatever you want. You enter a spam bar in the "contains" field by entering a consecutive number of plus characters. I chose 5 in my case. Be careful to set the spam bar too low or you risk losing the correct mail. It is very indisputable that any of my friends will send me a letter from the hot address of the address that had these words in the subject line, and also met with SpamAssassin 5 points.
There is a difference between “and” and “or” terms. If you select “and”, the filtering must match the whole combination of conditions. If you selected “or”, the filtering will meet the previous conditions or the new one you choose. These options allow you to customize a filter that is specific to your situation, and sometimes very specific. Be careful to be very general in terms of, if you do, you will probably miss some personal letters. Select the data that is usually part of your spam emails and does not look like the usual ones you receive.
The last thing to do is to set the action. I chose to simply refuse the email. Other options mainly serve to redirect the desired mail to a specific folder on your server, and this does not meet the requirements for working with spam.
There now it was not very difficult. You can study different scenarios to suit your own situation. Now you have configured a spam filter that will only work on one email account and only in case of problems. SpamAssassin will only affect this account, not the entire system. This is a convenient, specially designed spam filter for you.
It is a pity that we have to deal with such a parasite, which is called spam mail. Learning how to configure spam filters at the provider or hosting level, you can get rid of it.
