Czech cuisine and drinks - the best Czech restaurants Chicagoland -2

If you are from the Czech heritage, you certainly understand the joy of great Czech cuisine. Even if you don’t visit one of these great Chicagoland restaurants, you can praise Czech food and drinks. Here is a list of several of our favorites ...

In most parts of Chicago there is one of the largest Czech and Bohemian cultures in America. Not surprisingly, you will find plenty of culinary gems in and around Chicago to celebrate these cultures.

Most of the Czech population in Chicago is in the near western suburbs. Suburban villages such as Berwyn, Stickney, Cicero and Brookfield have large Czech, Slovak and Bohemian communities. Located about 20 minutes west of downtown Chicago, these suburbs are home to the three best Czech restaurants in America. Let's take a closer look ...

Restaurant "Klas": Cicero

Klas - the great dad of all these wonderful restaurants, which opened its doors in 1922. This is a huge place and over the years has taken numerous dignitaries.

Clas is open on weekends and banquets during the week. The interior is a treasure trove of antiques and authentic items from the Czech Republic and the Czech Republic. And the only thing that is more authentic than the decor is the food!

Dumplings here are other worldly, like goulash and any pork dishes. This is a great place to go back and enjoy a wonderful meal with friends and family, as well as take care of the local history.

Czech Square: Berwyn

Just a few minutes from Klas, in the neighboring suburb, in fact, this is Czech Plaza, an authentic place for home cooking for almost 50 years. It is conveniently located on Cermak Road, making it easy to reach from anywhere in Chicago.

The bar area is a great destination, but you will want to focus on great food. Served in large quantities at very reasonable prices, it can be one of your favorites.

We are big fans of Czech meatloaf here. Although we do not know the recipe, we believe that it is a combination of shredded pork and beef. It's hearty, mildly seasoned, and worth getting out of your way. Another good choice is Farmers Platter, a selection of several dishes on the menu and is ideal for those who are not familiar with the kitchen.

Restaurant Moldau: Brookfield

About 10 short minutes west of Berwyn is the village of Brookfield, divided in half by lively Ogden Avenue. Ogden paves the way from downtown Chicago to the western center of Illinois, also following the name Route 34. This is one of the main commercial lanes in Brookfield where you will find Moldau restaurant.

Moldau has long been one of our favorites, just a few minutes from our high school alma mater. This is a small place, but a great taste. The hours here are early, and the place usually closes until around 8 pm, so plan an early dinner.

Any of the pork plates are outstanding in Moldova. Fried pork with sauerkraut and dumplings is as good as it turns out! Save room for dessert and coffee. It comes with food, as is the tradition in these restaurants, but it is very easy to refill it before hand.

Moldau is a real local pearl that will feed you well at low prices. Think about it, the same applies to Klasa and the Czech Square. When in Chicago, do so to visit one or all of these three great Czech-style restaurants. They will smile at you!
