There is nothing worse than finding an unpleasant stain on the fabric of your office chair; it seems that once it almost grows and grows each time you look at it. The question is, what is the best way to deal with a bad stain of fabric? And the answer really depends on what is caused by the stain.
Here are some of the most common stains on office chairs and how best to cope with them.
Soft drinks, tea and coffee stains
Fabric stains on office chairs, caused by soft drinks, tea and coffee, are very common after everything is so easy to drop your drink when working on your chair.
As with most tissue stains, fast treatment is vital, so it is always better to act quickly. Start by stripping any excess liquid with a white paper towel, do it, blot the stain and do not rub it.
Then mix a solution of 33% white vinegar (acetic acid) and 66% warm water, moisten the stain with a solution of a solution or a rag or mist.
Let it soak for a short time, then blot again with a clean paper towel, repeat this process if necessary.
Grease stains
Again, speed is important when working with fat stains. Start by spraying the grease tag with talcum powder or cornstarch and let the grease soak into the powder before cleaning it. This will remove any grease sitting on the surface of the fabric.
Then use a dry cleaning solvent to moisten the stain to dissolve the grease with a white paper towel to remove the contaminated area and remove grease. It may be necessary to repeat the treatment when the stain is especially bad.
Warning note Before using any solvent, always check it on an inconspicuous area first to make sure that it does not adversely affect the color of the fabric.
Chocolate stains
Chocolate is a real threat in the office, you have a snack, and before you know it, a piece of chocolate falls on a chair, and then you sit on it and do damage.
Where this is a large piece, you should put an ice cube in some kind of cling film and press it to chocolate to harden, and then take the knife back and gently scrape off the accumulation of chocolate.
After you have done this, use a solvent for dry cleaning recommended for smearing stains, not forgetting to first check for color stability.
Maintenance
You may find that you will need to clear a reminder of your chair fabric if it is several years old, as cleaning the stain may leave the area much cleaner than the remaining fabric.
It is always a good idea to have your chair fabric in good condition, regularly brushing, leaving the raw, fine sand particles to stick in and act like wallpaper, causing premature wear in your upholstery.
A regular vacuum cleaner with a good cleaner as well as a lightweight bearing for agitating dirt particles is a good idea and will help extend the life of the fabric of your chair.
Where the fabric is very worn, it may be too late to restore its finish, and it may be necessary to invest in a new chair.
