Pillow Bearings

The cushion bearing is a type of bearing located inside the cast iron bracket, which also serves as a bearing housing. Usually it is made of gray iron and provides a secure casing. The material of its inner bearing component is usually made of a soft metal, such as white metal, while its outer body can be either single or divided. Although this bearing is primarily intended for situations involving minimal loads and low torque, it can also be used in industrial environments with a clean environment.

In some countries, the term pillow bearing is often replaced with a flame arrester bearing, but this is not the same device. Unlike the cushion block bearing, there is no internal bearing. In addition, it is designed for aggressive, industrial installations and higher loads. However, for these two bearing housings there is one feature. Both can be bolted to stable surfaces using mounting holes for inserting bolts located on the base of the housing.

The cushion block bearing is used to support the rotating shaft, which provides a reliable, stable bearing housing, which is quite expensive. The bearing is protected from dirt, such as dust and dirt, with special seals located at the inlet and outlet of the housing. Split housing is often used to facilitate bearing changes and shaft maintenance, while single housing is used in a number of applications. There are some applications where one type is used in less accessible areas with lower shaft speeds due to less need for repair and a shaft bearing that rotates more slowly.

Roller bearings

A roller bearing, spherical or cylindrical in shape, helps to move things, especially large, heavy ones. Its main function is to reduce the resistance and friction that occur when moving objects. Roller bearings are often visible in machines or industrial products, such as conveyor belts. They allow you to smoothly and easily transfer objects, effectively distributing their weight. The bearing is characterized by the presence of several contact points, since its round body has rolling elements inside it, such as ball bearings inside the collar.

The method of operation of the roller bearing system can be demonstrated using a large piece of wood rolled along the surface. Since wood is heavy, it takes a reasonable amount of time and effort to move it. However, when it is placed over several metal pipes, it is easier to move because of reduced friction and constant movement of the pipes.

Roller bearing systems are a number of types and designs, making them useful in industrial applications and machines. A cylindrical roller bearing contains a metal bushing that has an internal small gear. The wheel has teeth that securely hold the ball bearings inside the wheel. When the load moves, the wheel turns, but the weight of the load remains fixed above the spherical ball bearings inside the cylinder.

Although slide bearing systems are complex, most of them have a simple structure and design. An example of a basic system is that bearings are used to support heavy objects. This type of roller bearing is usually observed in machine applications such as conveyor belts.
