Ijen Crater or Kawah Ijen is another attraction of volcanic tourism in Indonesia. Crater Ijen (Kawah Ijen) - a famous tourist site, which is known for domestic and foreign tourists because of the beautiful and charming nature. It is 5 466 hectares, 2 386 meters in height from the depth of the sea, with a forest forest of 92 hectares. Its temperature ranges from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, and the area of the crater is 2.386 m above sea level (mdpl).
There are many beautiful plant species that can be found there, for example; edelweiss flower and Casuarina Junghu (cemara gunung), etc. Various species of animals can also be seen in the area, for example, in the jungle (ayam hutan) and porcupine (Landak).
Ijen crater is about 68 km from the city center. There are several facilities here, such as: camping, shelter and tourist information center (TIC), etc.
The best time to enjoy the landscape of the crater is in the morning when yellow sunlight glows with yellow water and illuminates the surrounding mountain like Mount Merapi, sister of Mount Ehen. Morning haze creates a calm that we do not get in the capital cities. At 2 pm, the crater is closed for the reason that thick smoke from the crater is poisonous.
Visiting the Bondowoso route, tourists will travel around the coffee plantation. It also has a beautiful view. Arabica green coffee trees are a really exciting scene to enjoy.

- Bondowoso - Paltuding: 68 km with public transport
- Paltudinga - to the place: 2 km on foot
