Common Causes of Knee Pain - Knee Sprain -2

When someone stretches their knee, many people will say that it is good that it was not a break, because it would hurt a lot more. Did you know that sometimes stretching can hurt even more than a broken bone? Just because only spraining does not mean that it is not painful and not swollen, and although it cannot be broken, it is still quite difficult to walk on it, at least for the first few days,

What is a knee sprain?

Basically, a knee sprain is an injury to one of the ligaments in the knee. Most of the time, stretching of the knee joint is caused by falling or hitting the knee against something, and many knee joint stretches are caused by a wrong turn of the knee, which is fairly easy to do. Knee dislocations should be properly treated so that they do not cause future problems.

Knee Spray Treatment

There are many cases in which a dislocated knee can be either swollen or painful, like a break, so one of the first things is to immediately cool down the swollen area. Then, the victim must visit the nearest X-ray emergency room to make sure that there are no fractures in the joint or knee cup. As soon as sprain is associated with a diagnosis, the doctor will recommend RICE treatment (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate).

Recreation: Of course, most movements, especially walking, will cause pain and irritate the sprained knee, so it is important that the injured person leave the leg as much as possible. Walking should be kept to a minimum for at least a few days, until there is no pain while walking.

Ice: During the first two or three days after stretching the knee joint, it is important to maintain the damaged area of the ice to reduce swelling. Ice packs should be used four or five times a day for about 20 minutes. For a packet of ice that does not leak, try soaking the sponge, and then put it in a bag with a lock. When it thaws, water will be absorbed by the sponge and will not seep everywhere.

Compress: To help reduce the swelling and slightly immobilize the leg, the sprained knee should be wrapped with an elastic bandage. The best way to put it is to start under the knee and wrap in cross movement. Remember to wrap it too tightly; you do not want to interrupt blood circulation.

Raise: It is important that the injured knee be raised as much as possible to treat the pain. When the leg is above the heart, what can be done by simply supporting it with several pillows, it helps to reduce blood flow, which will help prevent blood transfusions.

Many doctors also recommend that people with knee sprains take anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen. After a few days, ice processing should cease and heat should be used to alleviate stiffness and provide flexibility. After a week or so, the victim must rise and continue, following the usual customs.
