Cheap (Seafood) Eats in Barbados - Hume! -2

Like other Caribbean islands, the cost of Barbados in Barbados is more expensive than you can find in the States, because basically every ingredient must be imported. Fortunately, the most important ingredient is readily available and abundant: the fish that has just been caught in Barbados is still fresh. The local fisherman chooses snapper, mahi mahi (which locals call a dolphin), barracuda and other wonderful choices, as well as flying fish. (I am so proud of this local favorite that Barbados calls itself “the land of flying fish.”) And you don’t have to waste your children. college fund to allow incredible fish meal.

Before I tell you where, let me tempt you by preparing the Bhajan style: fresh fish covered with local spices (a combination of onion, thyme, garlic, black pepper, marjoram and salt), then lightly fried. Delish! Another favorite badge is fish steamed in onions and tomato sauce on a coo-coo, something like polenta. Local yellow pepper sauce improves almost all foods in Barbados and is available on request in any restaurant (warning: this material is addictive).

If you know where to look, you can find seafood to die, because it will leave some of your holiday budgets available for something really special, such as a catamaran cruise. By the way, the following cafes are located on the southern coast of Barbados, where prices are generally lower than in other areas of the island.

* Silverpoint : From the beaten track, this is an elegant eatery in the open air and a bar located in the boutique Silverpoint Villa Hotel. Eat overlooking the wild and dashing surfers from Silver Sands beach.

* Southern Palms : A very laid-back open-air restaurant and Dover Beach Bar and part of the occasional Southern Palms resort in St. Louis. Lawrence Gap.

* Caribbean : Sun yourself at Sandy Beach and then go in for your appetite snorkeling. The Caribs are so relaxed that you can wear a swimsuit (with cover) in this friendly restaurant / bar under the open sky.

* Oistins : Treatment can be a Friday night in the small village of Oistin, where you buy fish freshly caught and cooked outside. Music, people and an upbeat atmosphere make an unforgettable meal.

* Surfer & Cafe & Obskewer Bar A: In addition, at Oistins, this casual diner offers espresso and cocktails and wi-fi in addition to simple local rates, such as fish carvers (sandwiches).

* Omar is alive A: Probably the least cheap of any places on this list, but the portions are huge. Located in the beautiful Carlisle Bay, this place is basically a hut with a lobster bar and a bar that offers an orgy of serious lobster food.

* St. Lawrence Gap: Go to the famous area along the southern coast of Barbados, called St. Lawrence Gap, and follow your nose; This cheap dinner is prepared outside. It's fun to go on one of the open grills along the famous "Gap" and watch the cooking dinner in front of you. Do not forget to download local favorite side dishes, such as pasta cake and bananas. Take a beer in the Gap Convenience store, find a place on the beach and make yourself the cheapest holiday of all, with such a fantastic view, like the real restaurants on the island.
