Fibromyalgia is not a new condition. Fibromyalgia was as long as there were animals and people. This can affect any person on the planet and is associated with many “injury factors”. The full state is more common in women, but it is also characteristic of men, and I have seen it even in children and young people.
At a basic level, most people with fibromyalgia suffer from diffuse contraction of muscles and tendons, which is partly due to multiple nerve compression through the spinal cord and limbs. Spinal origin from the neck, middle of the back and lower back is prominent in this source of pain. He sees that deep spinal muscles cause deep nerve compression and cravings, which cause further muscle problems in the spine, limbs and head. The pain can be directly from the muscles that grind the joint, or from pain related to the joint from the spine. As a rule, both of them exist simultaneously. Headaches can exist from the mentioned pain from the neck, but also from local muscle problems around the head.
Fibromyalgia is chicken and egg history. What was the first - a problem with the muscles or problems with the nerves. The answer, for the most part, is that the disease is caused by problems with the paraspinal muscles. To better understand the state, we must learn some biophysics.
One of the most important principles to be understood is that after reaching adulthood, adult skeletal muscles are reduced through exercise, injury, or any muscle movement. This is probably due, in part, to a decrease in growth hormone levels when we move into adulthood. It seems that growth hormone affects the extent to which muscles support exercise and injury.
In general, the more we look like a child, the better. That is why a child can run all day, not tire or get sick, and then wake up the next day and run all day again. That is why most adults over the age of 30 have difficulty starting a block or two without picking their car. Fortunately, there are people who are faced with their thirties and over the years. In fact, one of my patients is over sixty-five years old and in just a few days only two marathons have passed!
This ability is possible for several reasons. First, most of them have become complete stretchers and can overcome the first principle. They also probably have a well-aligned running biomechanics and are likely to have good running techniques. However, many of the thirty people will eventually succumb to knee pain from running.
Another important principle is that muscles that are injured during work are reduced from injuries while resting, for example, while sleeping, sitting or standing. This will cause joint compression of the spine and extremities and will cause a lump, or cracking of the joint, articular joint, pain in the joints, and sometimes osteoarthritis of the joint. Most of this reduction occurs gradually, over several months or years, but it does. That is why we become tough when we wake up, either sitting or standing for a certain period of time. Anything that aggravates your sleep will also aggravate your muscles.
These very important points are part of the fibromyalgia triangle, which I describe. A triangle is a severe pain that causes sleep problems, which causes anxiety, which causes pain in the muscles, which causes more problems with sleep, which causes more anxiety in and around and around it.
Chronic pain disrupts normal sleep cycles, acting as a “stimulant” for your ability to sleep. Medications, supplements and treatments that block this affect will greatly help fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia Triangle
Chronic pain - sleep disturbance - anxiety / depression
Walter Cannon demonstrated in 1940 that any animal tissue that becomes denervated will become hypersensitive. In other words, pinch the nerve and all the tissues provided by this nerve will become very irritable and electrically sensitive. It really makes sense because the tissue has lost direction from its nerve.
Not all tissue is damaged badly, but muscle tissue reacts, becoming stiffer or more spastic. This spasm does not disappear until the nerve function is restored. That is why a person with a strangulated spinal nerve has problems with a hamstring elongation and cannot bend over. There are many more possible examples, but remember that a stranded nerve causes permanent muscle spasm and other tissue abnormalities.
Another important principle is that muscles that remain spasmodic or short for a long time will ultimately end up in a narrow spasmodic position, causing abnormal movement and contraction of the joints. This will lead to compression of the disk and hernia, arthritis and subluxation of the spinal cord. It will also cause joint compression in the limbs and abnormal tracking, which will cause abnormal wear points and osteoarthritis.
That's why I prescribed arthritis for osteoarthritis arthritis, as this is a more accurate description of the cause of arthritis.
To understand further, the spine is lined with five layers of muscles. The three upper layers are for heavy muscles for the spine, and the two deepest layers are for the structural integrity of the spine. These deep muscles, primarily the multifidus and rotator and long muscle, are probably the most important muscles in the body.
These muscles allow our spikes to move without falling apart. They are very strong, but very small. They are not designed for hard work, but, unfortunately, over time they will be exposed to work and injury. These muscles become very dense and broken and can literally crush the segments of your spell. They can be released, but only with very high-tech needle technology or very high-tech physical therapy. These muscles will be the main cause of most diseases of the spine.
I have to introduce the term neuropathy and myofascial pain at this moment. Neuropathy is a term for describing nervous diseases or injuries. This includes diseases such as multiple sclerosis, but also includes myofascial compression / traction neuropathy or “pinched nerves”. The most common neuropathy or nervous “disease” is definitely a strangulated nerve, because essentially all adults and most adolescents will have some degree of compression neuropathy at the base of the neck and back. The deep spinal muscles directly or indirectly cause most of the pinched nerves that we experience in our lives.
The term myofascial pain or MFP for short is a term to describe pain in muscles and tendons. "Mio" refers to the muscles, and "fascia" refers to the connective tissue of the muscles and tendons. Together they belong to the group of conditions caused by muscle dysfunction, which lead to various forms of acute or chronic pain. Myofascial dysfunction or MFD is similar, but refers to abnormal muscle function due to neuropathy and myofascial pain.
From a biophysical point of view, the base of the neck and lower back are weak links in the spine. The base of the neck and lower back is most susceptible to muscle injury and scarring. The areas of the note are between the fifth cervical, cervical vertebra and the seventh cervical vertebra. In the lower back, the weak areas are between the fourth lumbar vertebra and the first sacral vertebrae.
Although these areas are the most unbearable in design, I will remind readers that I have discovered serious anomalies at all levels of the spine, and in the case of fibromyalgia, this is usually the case.
Injury factors are simply factors related to the problem of human pain. Despite the fact that many will refuse any obvious injury, I am insured against the fact that a person was injured. Quick list of injury factors:
Increased age-related recurring types of work and severity of accidents. Joint deformation. Hormonal effects (growth hormone, rapid cycling of periods, low estrogens and progestins, low testosterone). Stress or anxiety. Constant level of anxiety. Nervous function Own flexibility of muscles Types of Hobbies and Past time The effect of drugs on the muscles
There are an infinite number of injury factors associated with the MFP and MFD. Those that I have listed are indeed common, which I see every day. The importance of understanding the idea of injury factor is that it helps an individual to try to determine which factors may be important in their sick disorder.
Not everyone has the same factors that have the same level of importance. The identification of individual human factors is very important both for recovery and for maintaining health. For example, anxiety and depression can contribute to an increase in internal muscle tone, especially in the upper back and neck. Stress reduction techniques will help people with “stress” act as a major factor in their condition. Hormones or their absence can play a role in the gradual onset of MFP in most adult patients with chronic pain for more than 50 years. Supplement may play a role in their recovery, but probably is not the main important role.
Sharing my understanding of the importance and benefits of muscle length and stretching, I consider my personal crusade. Nerve health can determine the health and function of its affiliated muscle groups.
Medications can have a negative and positive effect. For example, some of the cholesterol-lowering drugs can cause an increase in muscle spasm and a reduction in the whole body, which causes joint pain and contraction. Other medications, such as anti-inflammatories, can lead to a dramatic change in our ability of muscles to fight or recover from injury. The work we do has a big impact on the problems of pain that we will develop.
Typically, the most commonly used muscle groups will be the groups most affected. (for example, letter carriers will tend to suffer from torsion of their spinal cord from carrying a mail bag and repeated stress of their dominant hand due to sorting.)
Contrary to what one would expect from most, athletes suffer more than the average person because they injure their muscles and joints more than the average person. However, this is not necessary; most athletes do not receive proper preventive care for arthritis.
One of my most important points that I often quote is ...
“Given that a person lives long enough, we will all develop fibromyalgia. The best you can hope for is to keep her in fear. ”
The cause of most, if not all, the pain of fibromyalgia is a combination of nervous and muscular dysfunction. Deep spinal muscles cause minor or even major nerve trapping syndromes. These nerve injuries will cause pain, which refers to our limbs, head, and body. They can create dizziness, ringing in the ears, abdominal pain and bloating. Palpitations can be caused by sympathetic exhaustion. Visual blurring may occur due to neck problems.
The weakest spinal segments are the backbone of the neck and back, but the middle part of the back is also usually affected.
Fatigue occurs for several reasons, usually due to prolonged sleep disturbances due to the stimulation of chronic pain. Muscles will catch up when the nerve pinches, as Walter Cannon proved in 1940. Injury factors will determine the age of onset, severity and pain associated with the condition.
A comprehensive stretching program will be the only determining factor for prevention. Career, lifestyle, depression and age are also important.
Good news! Although it seems that this condition is incurable, it is not. Fibromyalgia is potentially reversible! I demonstrated it with thousands of my patients and myself.
Recovery example:
At first the attack plan is useful This is war, and the stakes are high. Understanding your condition is extremely important - it became comfortable with the basic aspects and anatomy of the condition.
Without fear. Do not be afraid of fibromyalgia. First, the severity of the pain is very terrible and frustrating. However, it is very important that calm prevails, because anxiety will only worsen the pain and your sleep. People usually do not die of fibromyalgia, they often only want them to do so.
Learn as much as possible about stretching, physiotherapy and chiropractic.
Prevent injury. An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of treatment. If you suffer from chronic pain, do not check the limits of this condition, exercise too much or perform tasks that you know will subsequently hurt you. Drink yourself and try to reduce injuries and pain. However, try to avoid the couch.
Start with a good, comprehensive stretching program, like my stretching videos http://www.stretch-doctor.com Always use stretching programs in consultation with a therapist. Because if you are “swinging through stretching with all the guns burning”, you will definitely get hurt. GO-SLOW is the rule of the game.
Explore physical therapy in your area and find out who respects it. One who has the time and patience to help fibromyalgia is very important. In the field of physiotherapy, there are many tools, such as the “cold laser”, traditional ultrasound and a new powerful focused ultrasound that can destroy muscle scars. Manipulation, stretching and craving can be helpful, but often too painful for fibromyalgia in the early stages of therapy.
Chiropractic can be very effective for many people. Basically proven theory of spinal and articular movement. Chiropractic can be effective, but it has drawbacks. Some manipulations may be too painful to end at an early stage of recovery, but may be more effective as a recovery procedure.
Injection therapy is a huge area. There are so many ways to do this, as there are acupuncturists. I myself have developed various methods that I urge to break spinal and limb spasms and scars. One of my methods is a modified version of intramuscular stimulation or IMS. My mentor Dr. Hann Gann from Vancouver, British Columbia invented IMS. I made several configurations to "customize" a bit. It is very important to tear out virtually all scars in the muscles of the neck, mid-back and back. Then you must begin treating the limbs in their inheritance. The problem with this method is that it literally includes from two to three hundred needles, most of which are quite painful. However, there are methods for overcoming pain during treatment. Blockage of the paraspinal nerve can reduce pain, as well as prior treatment with analgesics such as codeine and oxycodone.
Some benefits can be achieved with the help of Botox, and, in fact, I am one of the first, if not the first, for the treatment of the deepest spinal layers injections of Botox in North America. However, I would not start with this radical technique, since I do not think that Botox is the solution for fibromyalgia. Due to the extent of the muscle problem, I believe that most fibromyalgics will require some form of acupuncture for a good recovery.
Massage therapy can be very effective as an adjunct to the treatment of fibromyalgia. Patients suffering from mild symptoms may benefit even more from massage therapy, but I still add my personal passion to this. Heat is important as a therapy in itself. Many doctors are in favor of catching a cold where I actively advocate warmth. Wet and dry heat can be very helpful. For most, you will need a trial version and an error to find which ones are best for you, and may change from time to time, and the area to the area. This, of course, is true for all therapies.
Exercise is important to keep up with something. I know that it can be very difficult or almost impossible for severe fibromyalgia. I often suggest walking, swimming or cycling in limited quantities. Do not forget to stretch before, sometimes during and, of course, after training. You will find stretching after a workout, it will be easier and more effective.
Drugs! Doctors have excellent knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of drugs and complementary / herbal therapy. I have to add that supplements and herbs are not the same thing. Supplements are medicines that complement what you already have in your body.
