How to make a mosquito repellent for camping -2

There is nothing special about being outdoors and with nature. This is what makes hiking and trekking very good. What is not so great is mosquitoes and other biting insects that can turn your little piece of paradise into an itchy hell. More importantly, mosquitoes can carry diseases such as fever in West Nile and malaria in certain areas, therefore preventing mosquito bites can be of paramount importance for maintaining health.

Repellents containing DEET are effective when used in concentrations of 10% or less and in the prescribed manner, they are likely to be reliably safe, but there were concerns about toxic effects at higher concentrations. Many people are now looking at alternatives to products containing DEET.

Here are some simple tips to keep mosquitoes in a natural way when you are hiking or camping so you can fully enjoy outdoor activities.

1. Pack some Shelf Dryer Sheets - Stock up in the supermarket before you leave the house. There are many brands of drying sheets, but Bounce has the best record for actually deterring flying insects - this is due to the specific pH value of the Bounce brand.

Tie a fresh velcro to dry the belt or belt, and this will keep the mozzi. You can put one in your pocket, and then pull out most of it, so get out, just waiting to remove these annoying insects. Hang one in a stroller to keep your child safe. Hang one of the umbrella pillars of your dinner table to get “bites”. You can also rub a sheet of dryer on your skin and clothing.

The chemicals present in the elevator seem to combine with the natural chemicals your skin produces to form complexes that hold most mosquitoes and other flying insects.

2. Make your own Oil removal tank - citronella (lemon balm), peppermint, cedar, lemon grass, lavender, geranium and cat — all essential oils that have been shown to reflect mosquitoes. It is said that the cat is 10 times more effective than DEET.

You can not apply essential oils directly to the skin, so you need to make a decision. For a spray solution, dilute 10 ml (approximately 1/2 fluid ounce or 2.5 teaspoons) of the essential oil with 80 ml (approximately 3 fluid ounces or 1/3 cup) of water or grain alcohol (vodka whiskey, etc.). Put it in a spray bottle and use as needed. If you drink alcohol, vodka is unlikely to leave you smelling as if you were drinking!

Solutions of this concentration work from 30 minutes to 2 hours, so you need to use often, especially after bathing.

It was found that in India, neem oil mixed in coconut oil to make a 1-2% solution was very effective, so if you are hiking in India, make sure you get some of it.

Try this spray - 10 ml (about 1/2 ounce of liquid or 2.5 teaspoons) of citronella is added to 80 ml (about 3 fluid ounces or 1/3 cup) of water or vodka. Then shake and apply as a spray. Alternatively, use 10 ml of a mixture of citronella, eucalyptus and lemon grass oil in 80 ml of water or alcohol.

Cat repellent is very good, but you can not use it in small children or are allergic to cat's fingers. Mix 5 ml (approximately 1/4 fl oz or 1/2 tsp) of catnip essential oil with 240 ml (approximately 8 ounces or 1 cup) of isopropyl alcohol (alcohol for the back or surgical alcohol) and 240 ml of water (approximately 8 liquid ounces or 1 cup).

3. Make your own Essential oil repellent - This is a strong version using essential oils, where you just put a few drops on your skin or clothes or rinse paper towels and leave them near the tent doors. You must be careful with some essential oils if you are pregnant or use a child less than 2 years old if using this method.

To make a repellent, add 10 drops of essential oil in 30 ml (approximately 1 fl oz or 2 tablespoons) of vegetable oil, such as almond oil, olive oil, soybean oil, to a glass jar. Mix. For essential oils, choose one of the following options: citronella (lemon balm), peppermint, cedar, lemon grass, geranium, lavender, basil, garlic, eucalyptus and fever.

Try this butter - 5 drops of lavender oil plus 5 drops of lemon grass oil added to 2 tablespoons of almond oil. Dab on skin or clothing (only if 3 years old and older)

4. Use Fresh herbs - If you have fresh basil, you can rub some crushed leaves on the skin to act as a repellent. Alternatively, rub leaves on the skin with lemon grass - even better, use a substance inside lemon grass.

You can also crush herbs, such as thyme, rosemary, basil and garlic, and place them in a dish near the place where you eat or sit - it is best to cover the dish with muslin or other mesh to prevent insects from flying into it.

5. Usage Liquid lemon liquid - Apply some lemon spotted dishwashing liquid to a fine white dish with a thin layer of water and place about 6 meters (20 feet) from where you are. This is not so much a repellent as it attracts mosquitoes from you!

I hope these simple and natural remedies will help you to “get rid of bites” on this holiday.
