If you want a good vacation at the campsite and want to find gold, I have a place for you. Princeton BC was marked with gold found in the late 1880s. You will find the city of Granite, which is now a ghost town. A lot of gold and platinum have been discovered in this area.
To get a golden camping site from Vancouver, take the number one highway to Hope. Do not forget to spend some time exploring this area, since the gold miners used hope as a jump pointing to the Caribou. When you give up hope, you send route 3 to Manning Park. Upon arrival at the picking park for a short stop, you will walk only 40 minutes to the campsite.
The park has a lot to offer, including a restaurant, a guest stand, toilets and park tables on the green grass for relaxation. You will find a dog playing area when you turn off the highway and enter the park, it is on the right when you enter. Remember to pick up after your pet has set up parking containers for this.
When you leave the west gate on the highway, you will find a gas station with a small shop, ice cream cones are very large. From the western gates you about 30 minutes to camp.
This road changes from four lanes to two lanes when you descend the mountain. Watch out for wildlife, you will see a lot. Camping is just 30 miles away. Watch the Elk Ridge Outdoors badge on the right side of the road, if you shoot a turn, there is a place to turn around only in the next corner, but be very attentive to the upcoming traffic as you turn.
When you enter the camp, you will see a road that goes straight and the road is on your right. If you have a smaller installation, you can go straight and drive into the main house, the road is bumpy, and the turn in the house is small.
If you have a big rig, walk along the right road and follow it along the entire side of the ridge. Pay attention to the low gear, as the road is very steep and bumpy with very tight turns. In some places, you will find yourself right on the edge of the road, which goes straight for a few hundred feet. If your passenger is nervous, make them keep an eye on you, not on the road. This is a dirt road that knows that the traffic is approaching because in some places the road is narrow.
If you are towing a car behind you, the motor house will not catch the car after you go to the main road for camping, and ask your second driver to go in front of you or take the car and look at the road well before you take the road.
Going downstairs, you will find a large A framed lodge and 6 small cabins, which are all rented daily or weekly. Cabins are all new since 2004. You will find 12 sites along the river, and some are back in the trees, some of them have opened. There is excessive flow around the back of the A-frame.
Amenities are primitive, as they have a pit-tower, and you can only get water when the generator is running. Souls must be running and running by 2006. They have a large, hot, open-air chimney just above the beach. The scenery is absolutely fabulous, you will find gold in varying quantities throughout the river. All gold hunting must be done by hand, power equipment is not allowed.
Good fishing is found all over the river, and swimming is excellent with shallow rapids down the drain. They are online at www dot elkkridgeoutdoors dot com.
