In addition to the real engine, the brake system can be the most important car system. What for? Without brakes, you can never stop, which means that a car is just a metal car.
So what makes up this incredible rescue system? You will be surprised how simple the system is, but how practical the entrance is. That is why this structure has existed for a long time.
Starting from the inside of the car, you will have a pedal that controls the brake system. This pedal is connected to the master cylinder, which is connected to the wheel cylinders and calipers with pipes that contain fluid.
The master cylinder basically works like a plunger: every time you apply a pedal, you compress the hydraulic oil in the pipes. The master cylinder is located in front of the driver's seat. As a rule, the master cylinder has two plungers in the same housing. Each cylinder controls the braking of the two wheels for a safer deceleration. The problem you may encounter with the master cylinder includes internal leaks or air bubbles.
The caliper is the outermost layer of the rest of the system. A caliper is a device that contains two levers to grip something. This is similar to the appearance of a piston. In this case, the caliper is attached to the brake pads to close the brake disc.
On some cars on the rear wheels drum brakes are installed. Fluid will be removed in the wheel cylinders, which pushed the brake shoes. Then the pressure beams will be pressed to the drum, which will slow down the movement of the car. The drum brake consists of a wheel cylinder, gaskets, boots and a drum in which it is completely absent.
In general, the brake system includes a pedal, master cylinder, brake pipes or hoses, wheel cylinders, calipers, brake pads and brake discs. Inside the system is the wheel hub and rear panel.
Before replacing any part of the brake system, the mechanic will have to see what type of construction is used by the car when it is a brake disc or drum brake. From this point on, a mechanic can easily fix any problems that you may have encountered over time. With sufficient knowledge of the braking system, a mechanic can choose the right components for your particular vehicle type.
