What is an open living area? The easy answer is simple and very broad: it can be who its owner wants, ensuring, of course, that outside and that spent a lot of time alive in that. What are your needs and requirements? How do you like to spend time outdoors? These are questions that will help develop your definition of living space. For these reasons, my definition open living space includes the following features:
- A furnished patio, dining area and kitchen.
- area of activity, including swimming pool and lounge.

First of all, the key elements of the open living area, as well as inside the house, include the kitchen, dining room and recreation area on the patio. When the weather allows our family to enjoy cooking, eating, relaxing and having fun outside; my wife and I would like to have friends; Our three teenage kids love chatting with friends. Cooking, therefore, is important and takes place at all hours from morning until midnight. A good barbecue forms the central part of any outdoor kitchen, but an additional burner or two in one form or another also makes life easier for the cook. A sufficient work surface with a chopping block or cutting board can additionally increase the pleasure time for the cook. Access to water, whether it is a complete outdoor water pipe or just a hose or water dispenser, is another necessity. Another important feature is the means for keeping food and drinks cool and convenient, both in the refrigerator and in the refrigerator on the ice. An extra bonus for me is a squat area where friends can watch and keep me company while I cook. All these functions should be organized to form an effective work triangle just like in the room. Then, the kitchen should have easy access to the dining room. A dining table with seating to accommodate groups is more than just the closest family — it’s a wise move if space permits. Once again, the bonus here will be in the open space for storage of patios, cutlery and bed linen. A chest or garden cage can be easily adapted for this purpose. Finally, a place to sit, relax, read, talk, and even watch TV, if possible, is a great addition to any open living room. Comfortable chairs, couches, side tables, a glider or a porch swing, and even a couch can make this area cozy and attractive. Patio furniture can be purchased in a wide range of styles and materials to suit every taste and preference; my offset rests on cedar patio furniture. The aim here is to make living space in the open air a mirror of comfort and design in the room.
In addition to eating, relaxing and having fun outside, we would also like to be active; therefore, my outdoor living area also includes a pool and space for other activities. Pools come in three basic styles: in the ground, on the ground and above the ground. Ground pools are by far the most expensive option, but they also offer the greatest range of uses and the best aesthetics. The pool is best located where it can get the maximum sun, an aspect that is not so necessary for hotter ascents, but of course, further north, where summer is a bit shorter and less intense. Extensive shelter around the pool is required to ensure a good flow of traffic and for the convenience of cleaning and maintenance. I recommend two separate patio areas included in the design of the pool deck. One of them is an open area, where for sun lovers you can place deck chairs or adirondacks. The other must offer escape from the sun in the form of a covered bar / lounge or some form of pagoda or tiki hut. As a rule, people will stay by the pool longer if they can get a little away from the sun without leaving the whole territory. A spa with hydromassage or sauna will also be a nice addition, if not for any other reason, because they add a round business card to the patio. In addition, if space allowed me to allocate a relatively long, but not necessarily a wide area for playing catch with baseball or football, for shooting the puck or training football kicks or for pitching horseshoes, bocce, bowling on the lawn, whatever. Most yards can accommodate all or at least some of these functions to some extent; size reduction is preferable to lowering. The more options available, the more fun can be performed.
Finally, the atmosphere and the atmosphere are vital for any open living area; these elements can be created with a well-designed garden and free landscaping. The goal here is to set the mood for any type of activity, whether it be dinner parties, lunches, afternoon barbecues or quiet family time. Honey suck, pipe, grape roses, bougainvillea (in hot climates), or simple ivy can be grown on a fence or in other garden supplies, such as a grate, a gazebo or a pagoda. If space is allowed, add a garden bench or swing along the path. Further, I am also a big fan of natural stone and stone. River Rock makes an excellent border around the pool deck and patio and can be laid out to offer a rocky beach or a dry river bed. The aroma of the grotto can be added by laying stone quarry slabs to create a variety of raised garden beds around the pool or patio. Large stones and boulders are always attractive additions. Whichever style is chosen, several factors must be taken into account: the amount of free space (do not overfill the space - remember: less - more), the position and movement of the sun, the average rainfall and ease of irrigation if necessary, and, of course, cost.
