What is the difference between data capture and data entry? -2

In business, surveys and feedback forms are great ways to learn more about your customers and even your own employees. But what happens when you collect all this data together? Sometimes it can be too much information for one or even a group of people to sneak in to extract the vital pieces of information needed to know how to be better for your customers and what they really want.

So you may have planned to outsource the service. Outsourcing data collection and data entry saves a lot of time, hassle and usually gives you really great results that you can imagine and easily understand. But there are differences between data entry and data capture that you need to know, regardless of whether you already have your forms with you or you think about how to set out the form yourself.

Fortunately, you do not need to describe in too much detail how to state the form, but in terms of money and time, you probably should take into account the differences between capture and entry.

This may seem straightforward, but often these things may overlap, and then you are not quite sure what you¡¯re getting, but here are the main differences between data capture and data entry.

Data collection is a service in which data is captured using checkmarks or checkboxes and other elements where areas are filled with simple lines or shapes to get the correct answer. These are, as a rule, multiple choice answers, or the answers may be yes or no. In essence, this is what the data capture service will offer, the ability to extract data from certain text fields to collect the most and least popular answers. Once this is done, it can be extracted into documents, such as Excel files, and can be displayed as graphs or pie charts. It is known that data collection is rather cheap compared to data entry, since a large part of the capture process can be automated using intelligent software, which is usually developed by the company itself. In turn, it is also recognized that it is faster to get answers back due to the nature of how data is retrieved for you.

Writing data from the other side is almost always traditionally entered into the text, copying exactly what the person who wrote the feedback form wrote. Unfortunately, at the moment computers cannot fully automate handwriting, and this can be a somewhat more expensive procedure. Many companies that do this work, as a rule, transfer work to other countries, such as India and China, where it is cheaper to do this work, therefore switching to savings, but as manual work will always cost more than automated computer system. However, data entry can give a much deeper insight into what you want to know. A written word is always significantly more useful than someone who checks a box when you get a vital look at what you think about return and your product or service. And because there is manual work, the time difference can often be quite long.

These two services deserve consideration when you look at customizing your form when it comes to how much it will cost you.
