Today's skin rejuvenation patients face a variety of professional treatment options - from Microdermabrasion to Botox® Cosmetic to laser procedures such as Fraxel Laser Resurfacing. Among all the competitions, the eMatrix skin rejuvenation system may seem like another fall in the beauty carpet.
However, the eMatrix system can report several skin problems (acne scars, uneven skin tones, fine lines, etc.), using a non-laser technique that is safe for all skin types, has no known serious risks and does not requires recovery time. Read on to learn more about eMatrix: how it works, who it is and what patients can expect.
How does eMatrix work?
Designed and manufactured by Syneron, VelaShape and ReFirme, the eMatrix system seems to go beyond fractional, to provide non-surgical, non-invasive and non-ablative skin rejuvenation results for men and women.
The key to the eMatrix system is the patented Sublative Rejuvenation ™ technology, a combination of dermal heating and fractionated bipolar radio frequencies. This subcell method applies radiofrequency energy deep into the skin layer of the dermis, leaving the skin surface intact and focusing on an area in which many skin problems occur.
As eMatrix radiofrequency energy penetrates and heats up dermal tissue, new collagen production is activated, and the rate of circulation and healing of skin cells increases. This can lead to improved skin tone, texture and elasticity, as well as a younger appearance of the skin.
EMatrix patients can even adjust the intensity of their treatment by choosing one of three settings:
1) Minor Impact - Minor Skin Tone and Texture Improvements
2) Blow mid level - corrects texture and color irregularities.
3) Deepest Impact - minimizes fine lines and acne scars
Who is eMatrix for?
Since eMatrix is non-invasive and does not use lasers or injectable formulas, it should be safe for most patients. The eMatrix system is also suitable for patients who cannot tolerate ablative laser procedures due to their high sensitivity of the skin or dark skin tones.
EMatrix treatments are usually recommended for patients who want a simple, low-risk way to reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, uneven skin tone, skin damage and skin weakness. If patients experience these conditions to a greater extent, more intense laser skin treatments or cosmetic procedures can be recommended.
What to expect from eMatrix
It takes only 10–20 minutes to treat eMatrix, and patients can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment. The eMatrix procedure should also be painless, so no anesthesia or treatment is needed after treatment.
For best results of skin rejuvenation, eMatrix patients are recommended to undergo at least three procedures with an interval of 4-6 weeks. Repeated cosmetic procedures after this can help patients save the results of eMatrix longer.
Published in 2009, eMatrix clinical research data showed that “90%” of patients observed an improvement in “skin smoothness / wrinkle reduction”, while “83%” of patients did not improve the improved “skin brightness”. The individual results of eMatrix skin rejuvenation may differ from these results.
Before going through eMatrix, Fraxel Laser Resurfacing, Microdermabrasion, or another skin rejuvenation procedure, it is advisable to conduct individual research and discuss your options with a licensed dermatologist or skin care specialist.
