Patients find comfort with cushion pads for microballs -2

Finding comfort after a surgical procedure or with a limited bed can be an elusive affair. But patients are comforted by something that is considered to be a toy. Have you heard of pillows with a microbial pillow? If not, you probably saw them. You probably noticed these pillows, marked with cartoon characters or made in different forms of fruit or animals. Affectionately referred to as soft pillows, moshi pillows or pillows, these little pillows are filled with tiny balls of expanded polystyrene. The beads allow them to fit the body, and lend the right amount of support for the arms, legs, back, or neck. Kids love to play with these pillows for years. Currently, several new groups of mixed pillow fans have emerged - people are healing after surgery, recovering in hospital or struggling with cancer.

These pillows have found a new fan base, because their unique “squished” design provides comfort for patients at a time when they are really needed. Patients who have just had surgery, for example, find comfort, can be subtle, since they often cannot move well, are confined to a bed and are likely to experience some pain from the surgical procedure. As the microspheres move and correspond to the support of almost any tender spot, the pain and pain after the procedure can be reduced.

Several sizes of mikroshapa pillows are useful for different situations. A small neck-sized pillow, about 10 inches long and 5 inches wide and shaped like a cylinder, is useful for supporting the head and neck. While they can be used anywhere, people resting in a hospital bed found these pillows that can make them stay a little more tolerant because they can support a sore neck, arm or head. It always seems that there are not enough pillows in the hospital, and those that are there, as a rule, are not very comfortable.

A small neck-sized pillow can also be used as a soft support at the back of the lower back. Its small size fits well in the lower back, which is very convenient for patients who have had a spinal procedure, epidural or even abdominal surgery, which made their backs tense, taut and sore.

Because of its smaller size, a pillow for microbeads with a neck rib is also useful for adding a pillow to a wheelchair. Tiny crunchy micro balls, so the pillow can be stuffed in a wheelchair to support the hips and back. If your elbows hurt, this small size can be placed under a sleeve or elbow joint so that it does not wipe the chair.

Some patients prefer a larger, medium sized pillow, about 13 inches long and 7 inches wide. This larger form actually aligns slightly more than the neck roll style, so it is well suited to support a larger surface of the body, such as the hips, legs, chest, or shoulders. This medium-sized pad was described as a “life saver” by more than one patient after surgery. A pillow under the thighs, which has had joint replacement, helps bring comfort to the gentle new joint and helps relieve pressure in this area.

This size is also useful after breast surgery to help protect and soften the chest and hands while sleeping. Dual mastectomy patients used this size pillow to help cushion incision sites with a harness, as well as to support the chest and flank during sleep. You can also use a pillow for larger microbeads on hand or feet to provide support in bed, on the couch or in the car.

Any size pillow is useful for bedridden patients for long periods of time, because they can help reduce sores on the bed. Protruding elbows, heels, thighs, and other bony protrusions with a pillow can help reduce bedsores because pressure on the skin decreases in this area.
