Fractal fundamentals
Fractal geometry refers to repetitive patterns in nature. The concept is simple, but so extensive and far-reaching. Some scientists say that life itself is built on fractal geometry. Others say that it is “Fingerprint of God.” You will find fractals or repeating patterns in all aspects of our Universe. Fractal geometry is in everything: from behavioral models to plants to sound waves. Life, as we know it, is built on this structure, and life has flourished for billions of years. The concept of fractal geometry permeates our very existence.
Perhaps one of the easiest explanations is to browse the tree. The main trunk supports the branches, the large branches are divided into smaller branches, which are again split into smaller branches, and this pattern is repeated down to the leaves.
During reproduction of human and animal cells duplicate themselves, splitting from one cell to two cells, then to four, then to eight, and so on. D. And so on.
The landscape structure is visible in the form of geometric shapes. Mountains repeat triangles of different sizes. Clouds in the sky can also be seen in fractal geometry. A small part of the cloud looks just like a large part of the cloud.
Although fractal geometry has always been around since the creation of our universe, it was “discovered” by Benoit Mandelbrot, a Jewish scientist living in France. He later became an IBM employee in the 60s and found that repetitive patterns in nature can be tied to a mathematical equation. Using this mathematical equation, he assigned digital colors to whole numbers, and when they were computerized, bright repetitive patterns came to life. Amazingly, the mathematical equation, colors, and patterns are endless. You can change the pattern forever, and although the pattern is constantly transforming, the same recognizable patterns appear again and again. This model was called the "Mandelbrot Set."
The scientist took a mathematical equation and applied it to many things. One of the achievements they have made is visual technology. They developed software that helped them take a big step forward in the aeronautics industry. The Imaging software that they developed now has the ability to display endless patterns in nature that have helped with visual modeling software designed for pilots in training.
In the law enforcement industry, they applied Fractal Geometry to their video surveillance technology to achieve much clearer images and videos, applying repetitive templates of the same image on top of the original image.
Fractals in the business structure
If you look back in history, you will find fractal patterns. Military ranking systems, monarchy / kingdom structures, Egyptian pyramids, family trees, ancient history, handed down from generation to generation, and even song structure.
Based on the fractal geometry model, enterprises structured in this way will also support themselves and develop growth. That is how people were created to think, live, work and flourish. Like a human body, a business organization is similar to the fact that prosperity requires many parts to work together.
Many times when business systems fail, it’s because the leadership structure is wrong. Most often, when there is one boss and many employees. This type of structure is inefficient because one person cannot effectively manage such a large number of people. Many employees leave based on the results of their boss when the boss loses touch with them. When the relationship of relationships is lost, vision and motivation soon emerge.
With the fractal leadership system, a natural correction occurs. As skills are multiplied and transferred, an employee can easily and easily become the next level manager. There is a natural restructuring. New managers are introduced, employees are reassigned, and the organization includes changes that make the business more efficient. Healthy organisms in life are constantly growing and changing. The same should be true for organizations.
When building a business structure based on fractal geometry, it is necessary to remember a few key points.
1. The structure must be scalable.
2. All members of the organization must be on board with a vision / DNA of the company.
3. Members must work within their team command.
4. Skills must be divided and multiplied to the next level.
5. The best is 2-4 members per level.
When organizations build to use fractal leadership, everything naturally falls into place. Below is a sample of the fractal structure of the guide. This is a model 1: 4
One thing to keep in mind when making organizational changes or restructuring: keep the basic fractal structure in place. If you are using a 1: 4 structure, stay with this structure. Not a “squish” bunch of people under a manager who already has a full 4 levels under him or her. This will overwhelm the manager and degrade the structure. Organized changes that adhere to the structure cause growth, while chaos creates disintegration.
All leaders
Using the fractal structure of leadership, each will or will be the leader of someone. For example, the warehouse manager manages the various sections of the warehouse. There will be a warehouse manager, "Dry warehouse", "Cold", "Frozen" and "Call." Under each section, this manager will have a fractal under them, for example, receivers, loaders, assemblers, and replenishments. If you look at one branch, for example, receivers, they will create their fractal in the same pattern that will have 4 employees, etc. Up to the initial positions.
To cultivate growth, it is necessary to establish relationships with each fractal. Short weekly meetings with your fractal are important for maintaining morale and motivation. These weekly meetings should focus on the personal needs of the employee, not at work. Talking about how they do it, their family, hobbies, etc., lets them know that the company cares about them, not just what they hired.
Progressive companies allow these meetings to be held outside the office. Coffee houses, restaurants and cafes are an ideal place for fractal meetings.
Large company meetings are important for the visualization and context of the company. The presence of these complete staff meetings will bring a new vision into all fractals. Communication with the highest level is important for coordinating the activities of the organization as a whole. The company's DNA must go through all levels.
Recruitment
When you are looking for employees to add to your organization, do not hire someone who can do it, hire someone who can make it easier for others to do it well. The organization should create a company consisting of leaders. Leadership skills should be on the list of skills for each hire. You might think, “How will it work if everyone is a leader and no one becomes a follower?” A good leader leads by example and gets into the trenches and encourages others to do it. A good leader also has a trained heart and mind, and he will be open to learning from power.
This brings us to the nature of potential employers. Training can be used to improve employees, but good character should be the basis of every recruitment. How do we find good character and leadership skills?
A good employee will get the vision of the company and buy it. They are enthusiastic and proud for the company in which they work. Recruitment managers must be good character judges. Many new employers come from companies that could not meet their needs. They leave their other job for some reason. New mercenaries have a mentality that can be protected as a bad break. These employees will need morale so that they can create confidence, which in turn will lead to a company’s pride. If the new hire has a sense of gratitude on the part of the manager, he will force him or her to start creating a sense of ownership in his or her work.
Another feature is the utility. If you hire players with skills in different areas, it gives you more opportunities during periods of growth, or if you need to shuffle people around when someone leaves or retires. An employee may need to wear several hats during the season until a suitable replacement is found. The organization must be flexible and adaptable.
If a member of the organization fights or hurts, the organization as a whole also fights or hurts. Think when you drown out your finger. The whole body reacts with pain. Your sock is not an isolated member. During an injury, the other members of the body stretch their arms and help the poor. When this happens in business, other people in the organization must be posted to help this struggling person or department exit before it is resolved. This may be the situation “All hands on deck”. As soon as the problem is solved, the members return to their normal duties.
One of the biggest problems with new employees is retention. New employers try it for a couple of weeks and decide that they no longer want to work there. If there are multiple instances of this, it is the task of the manager to figure out the cause and try to correct the problem. Are these erroneous expectations? Bad governance? Bad relationship between colleagues? Perhaps the manager should explain the job description better, sometimes with a video. To minimize high staff turnover, look for those with similar experience, interview the potentials so they can see what they are striving for. Construction success is a journey based on the elimination of deficiencies in your system. Below is a chart of some formulas for a successful recruitment.
application
When adapting the structure of your company to the structure of the Fractal leadership, be sure to do this in phrases. Do it slowly and work on the appropriate fractal model. A slow restructuring change will give everyone time to adapt.
