Off-road trail at Hat Point, Canyon Hells -2

The trail is located on the far northeast corner of Oregon, and this is the only car accessible perspective that crosses the deepest part of North America - the deepest river gorge - Canyon Hells. This 24-mile route from Immah to Hat Point is simple, and the highest mark on this trip is 6,982 feet. It was also known as one of the most difficult drives in Oregon, before the road was improved. There are several rest stops on the track, where one is located on Hat Point Road viewpoints, and then two campsites just before the test is completed.

To get to the beginning of this trail, take Highway 82, located inside Josephus, which is southeast of the city Enterprise. Continue along the Little Sheep Creek Road asphalt road from the left side to the east. Go straight for 30 miles to Imnaha. Starting from Imnaha, the road takes you to Hat Point Road, also known as the Grizzly Ridge Road or Forest Road 4240. As you drive along this well-marked road, the drive continues on Forest Road 4240 for another 22.5 miles to the Forest from memoirs Service station and landing strip. At this stage, make the right turn in Memaloose, going to Spur 315. Then you come to the Hat Point parking area 1.5 miles more, which indicates the head of the trail.

The first 18 miles, on the single point gravel road, Hat Point Road, takes you up to several turn-outs with breathtaking views as you approach the canyon of Imnaha River. At mile 18, the trail rises to the top of the mesa, and then forms a 180-degree curve. The route follows the ridge top for the last 6 miles around Cannes Helles over the Snake River. Here the height falls a mile from Hat Point to the Snake River. In Idaho, Canyon Hells goes to the Snake River from Devil's Peak from seven Devils Mountains, which is 9,393 feet high by 8,000 feet.

From Hat Point, the view in the depths of the canyon gives the greatest perspective on locale. Here you can also hike the river for the most scenic tourist trail in this driver. However, the forests on the ridge in this area were burned during a series of forest fires from 1987 to 1995. What remains of a wooded area are small ridges of upper elevation, such as mountain swamps and subalpine streams.

Drive along the trail and then you will arrive at Memaloose logging station at mile 22. Continue on the FR 4240 to check the relief road for another 5 miles, passing several access trails along the edge of Cannes desert. Make the right turn in Memaloose for the highly developed Hat Point area. From this point of view, offer a picturesque view of the square, despite the fact that the observation tower is not open to the public.
