Handmade Persian rugs are not just throws that you throw on the floor to add interest to the room. Handmade Persian rugs are works of art that may have taken several weeks and may have taken several years. These items are placed in homes in the area of origin, but no one enters one of these houses wearing shoes, and it may happen that the tradition of removing shoes from feet could begin with respect for the people who made these wonderful carpets.
Handmade Persian carpets can be made of wool, cotton or silk. When silk is used, the finished carpet is so complex that objects are often used to hang on the wall as decoration rather than lying on the floor. All items have a common trait created from ducks and warps. These are the names of the two main yarns that are used to create a pattern, texture, and a pile of carpet.
Twists are very strong threads that perform the length of the carpet. The weft is the second thread that works under and above the warps, creating complex patterns on the carpet. Samples for creating these rugs are often passed down from generation to generation. The area in which people lived, the type of life of their family and the ability to make a carpet, all play a certain role in deciding on the final template that will be used to create the item.
The weaving of these objects begins with the passage of several ducks through the lower base to form the base. Gradually folded dyed yarn knots are then tied to successful sets of adjacent skews. As more rows are added to the basement rows, the nodes that are connected create a pile of carpet. Between each of these rows, one or more duck snapshots will be packed tightly to ensure the safety of the rows of threads.
The weaving hardness and the quality of the materials used in the creation can vary the number of knots that are on each square inch of the carpet. You will find from sixteen knots per square inch to fifty hundred fifty knots per square inch. Of course, the more knots per square inch, the more expensive the carpet will be finished.
Most of the samples used to make these carpets were once copied to create cheaper products. Cheaper pieces are similar to the originals, but they are much cheaper and they are of lower quality and workmanship. Before you pay a large amount for one of these items, you will want to make sure that you buy the original carpet, not one of the knockouts.
