Hullabawho, hullabadoo, hullabaloo; I'm not sure that the kids laughed anymore from my ridiculous ways of saying Hullabaloo or the game itself.
We were on vacation in the family cabin and wanted some kind of civilization, so we went shopping at Wal Mart. I went looking for something for kids and found hullabaloo and Cadoo, (both Cranium.) I finally decided on hullabaloo because it contributed to physical activity and listening skills. I put it in the basket, to my husband, and, fortunately, he was under the limit of $ 25.
It was an instant hit with everyone in the cabin, 5 little girls. - Ages: 2,3,3,4 & 6 and one 6-year-old boy. Even my overly cool teen cousins played it with my little girl, and, of course, my grandmother also had to participate in a dance act.
The best part, even after it is played on very sandy floors, not worse for wearing, just a little dirty. I have a huge problem with toys that are not durable. Details are big, bright and durable.
Game consoles from 16 colorful playgrounds of various colors and shapes with an image printed on them. The talking audio console is large, it requires 3 AA batteries (not included) and has one big red button, that's all. No small destructible pieces.
The children place the pillows around the room, each step on the purple cushion for the skull and pushing the big red button. The console tells them what to do: “Scan to yellow”, “Spin to square”, “Go to the triangle”. The winner is announced at the end of the sequence: “Is someone on the piano?” Then the winner is instructed to “take the bow” or “make funky.” Then it starts again. Its so easy, and kids just love it. I like that they can customize it and play without the help of adults.
At best, we had 12 children playing at least 1 child. The box says that 1-6 players are 4 years old and older, but 2-year-olds with parental encouragement love him, and children sitting in their cousins suffer him, while grandmothers just love to fool themselves. My daughter regularly takes it out to play by herself, the console doesn't bother me. I usually can't stand toys that say, maybe it's a volume control on the console, variety or voice, but that doesn't bother me at all.
Educational value for any toy is for me the main consideration. Hullabaloo does not disappoint, he teaches colors, shapes and some word recognition. He promotes activity by following instructions and listening skills. I can not ask for more than for preschoolers.
Any child of preschool age receives this gift from us, and this is a great birthday party. For some reason, they are captured faster than musical chairs. Maybe because no one leaves the game, in fact, the console tells them to share the pads; therefore, three children can be on the same site, and all can be winners.
We love that we bought a DVD version for animals. The DVD is a trick, and you need a TV / DVD to play, I found it a bit attractive, and the children needed to watch the TV all the time to shrink. The original can be played anywhere. We mixed the pads and had a huge game for my daughter's 5th anniversary. Since some instructions are shape and color, all pads can be used. They will share these pads with photos when asked to find them.
Summing up, fair price, fun, ease of use, durability, from 2 to 6 years, so many players who can fit in the room, educational, not to miss anyone, and best of all not small pieces. A great addition to your game room.
